Love this thank you! I am 70 went on Keto was a great tool to learn fat is GOOD! BUT now we have incorporated more protein and carbs. We my husband and I both feel better with more carbs and protein. We still keep are carbs down and I do fast. Also learned a lot from the Fat Belly Dr's supplements and we eliminated a lot of grains. We go by what our body tells us. I work out A LOT my husband does not. But we both feel so good never go back to processed carbs and we eat a lot of meat, eggs, etc. AND SALT!

Glad to hear it! Have you downloaded my Ultimate Food Guide? It explains which foods are healthy and not related to how they impact blood sugar and insulin. I think you’d find it helpful. You can download that at www.weightlossforhealth.com/ultimatefoodguide.

One thing that _almost no one talks about_ is the fact that you can tolerate more carbs if you get 30 minutes of exercise immediately following your carb rich meal. It works because _active_ muscles can take up glucose without insulin. If you have a glucose meter you can easily prove this to yourself: 1) Decide on a test meal, say a bowl of oatmeal. 2) Day 1: Eat your meal, Set a timer, Take a 30 minute walk, At 60 minutes measure glucose. 3) Day 2: Eat your meal, Set a timer, Remain sedentary for 60 minutes then measure glucose. Compare the result from Day 1 with Day 2. Day 1 will be noticeably lower.

Interesting about not having carbs alone… several people on carnivore/keto space have stated that insulin rises when carbs are mixed with proteins & best to first have protein and wait a bit and then have carbs. Any thoughts?

It would be person specific based on their metabolic and gut health. Best thing would be to be your own experiment with a continuous glucose monitor and see how your body responds to both.

min 20, I think its not comming from the calories. its from the high protein, because I had the same problem, and than I started tracking my nutrituon particulary and I realised I was eating way to much protein. than i reduced it and after that, i felt so much more energized.

Make sure to get enough electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium). LMNT packets is one example or make it at home with what’s called “keto-ade”

Newborn babies are not in a ketogenic state, they use ketones yes but only about 25%. It's a high fat ( round 53%) high carb (39%) and low protein diet (8%) . It works for babies only.
