Michael, when do you progress the session from Solo, in pairs to 3 players and all controlling and passing as they move? I usually assess when players have enough ‘technical’ proficiency while stationary then introduce constant movement while still maintaining the optimum technique when controlling and playing. Then I usually move onto to mild pressure from a pseudo passive opponent where the receiver has to quickly assess where and how to control.

Can you make a technical work training focusing on mainly ball mastery.
@kevinsayce22482 жыл бұрын
Another aspect to consider is the triple concept of AT THE BALL, NEAR THE BALL and AWAY FROM THE BALL. AT THE BALL is about the initial technical contact with ball. NEAR THE BALL is about the effectiveness of the supporting players nearest to the ball. AWAY FROM THE BALL is how effective are the players furthest away from the ball. So, coaching within these three principles, it’s easy to follow where the coaching needs to be done. If the initial technique is poor then the other two are redundant. If the first technique is good, but the supporting angles and availability of the nearest players is poor then progress in play is stopped. If the technique is good and support players are positive in good support positions but the passing opportunities are poor then any attack is short lived.

Hey Micheal love your videos! I was wondering how many reps sets and how much rest you do when you train shooting crossing passing etc (football), how do you know how much you should do?
@7mlc2 жыл бұрын
There’s no right or wrong answer for sets or reps mate. As long as you’re really focusing on your technique with each one. For example, with the 2 touch shooting, we each did probably 4-5 rounds of 4 reps. Again though, quality is more important that quantity sometimes 👍
