I think you’ve hit a real format here, love this stuff. Short tutorial followed shortly by a demo. Thanks Ian 👏👏👏.

@@IanWaugh have you done a Berlin school tutorial? I know you’ve done a few smaller ones. One question I’ve kept forgetting to ask, about the early Tangerine Dream albums. Like Zeit and Atem, is there any kinda structure in there? There you go, a Tangerine Dream tutorial 😎.

@@SemtêxČØŴv2.0 I think the only Berlin walkthruu I've done is this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXzYqJatpr51qMU I got more into TD in their melodic phase with the likes of Phaedra and Ricochet. I think trying to mimic those early albums would result in a very long cideo. 😄 I will think about Verlin School, though 👍

@@IanWaugh I appreciated the technique you used: you played by single notes and then sort of chords - a nice balance of simplicity and complexity (correct me if I am wrong).

@@DenysDnipro That's it - you can start with single notes and then play 2 or more notes as you progress 👍

Really nice piece, Ian..reminded me in parts of Vangelis' "Memories of Green". It's amazing how much impact this technique can produce..even more when you add in effects and some well-chosen field recordings. Tempted to spend the weekend banging out an ambient album doing just that. 😁👍

I recorded something similar to this recent to August 2024 for one of my current recording projects. The crucial difference being, I recorded it using an MKS-70 in lieu of plug-ins. It’s all an abject lesson in how the best tool is your own ear.

I’m the silly one for not proofreading harder. Even somebody who can’t see that well like myself should not make a flimsy type of that type.

@@Shred_The_Weapon Don't worry. It takes me about 10x as long as it used to to write anything - and it's still not always right 😄

Hi Ian I think you should write a book on "How to write Ambient Music" from start to the end like the Chords you pick, BPM, Arrangements and so on to the end. I'l by your first book.
@IanWaugh5 ай бұрын
Thank you, Paul 😄 Probably won't write a book but may have a few more video ideas There are so many ambient genres and I've mainly been concentrating on the relaxing style.
