How to increase brain capacity from 5% to 40%

The average person accesses just 5 percent of their brain capacity on a daily basis. Five percent doesn’t seem like enough to me. What if you could increase that number?
Some people have figured it out. In fact, after speaking to the head of the Harvard Brain Institute I learned that high achievers use 20 percent of their brain capacity and Olympic gold medalists can access 40 percent. What is it that these elite performers have that the typical person doesn’t have? It's so simple. Yet, nearly everyone fails to do it.

HMM, I was always a mediocre achiever, I'm a jack of all trades, I have flipped/ renovated 2 houses, restored cars, did 3rd grade 2times, cause i'm lazy, cheated on many test exams in high school, cause i'm to lazy to study. I could never find the one thing I really wanted to to as a career/ dream job ect. until I was 28 and wanted to become a Pipe Welder and once I've joined a community college welding course, I wanted to become the best Pipe Welder I possibly could become and within 6 mos. of welding school, I surpassed all my fellow students by 50% and I was able to hone my craft which earned me +$100k year job coming straight out of school and are able to travel anywhere in the world. Only because I told myself every day, "I want to be the Best"

This is very powerful. Bo is absolutely correct. What you train your mind to think about on a continual or habitual basis, whether good or evil will determine the outcome of "every aspect" of your life. I just came to this conclusion several months back and I have been on a journey that's seeing lots of improvements in my personal and public life. This video which I just saw confirms everything that's been happening, and this is the real thing!

works in regions. doesn't always work 100%. y if that was true what about the idea of right handed people use the left brain and vice versa?, it's not even fully like that either. there is a lot of gray areas to this. I explain it in another comment. like the hippocampus, that governs most mapping, emotion, and more. also if we were using a hundred percent why would there be certain things called chemical releases. such as adrenaline, serotonin, and so forth. chemical imbalance is huge in our culture. many can train their brains to use more percentage. like the experiment with scientist explaining it takes 66 days to reprogram ( some use: form habits, not habits as a necessary bad thing but both good and bad) the mind. honestly we are a long way from understanding our brain. it also turns out that monks may have actually tapped into a secret to understanding the brain more then most. but many scientist are pure atheist and won't even consider to at least see what it's about.. I personally believe if your not open to many concepts and perceptions. then ultimately believe it hinders self growth and knowledge.

It is a myth. At all times the brain is anywhere between 89-99% active. Different situations/times affect activity differently. If you google the 10% myth there’s hundreds of medical journals proving it wrong and saying we actually use almost all of it at any given time. Fluctuations are dependent though.

But 100% use is never happening. Will always be in the 90s, otherwise brain signals would counteract each other

Good job with your presentation of this idea. I have also recognized the power of the mind to manifest itself accordingly, in symmetrical precision. It is impressive how our body and our experiences are orchestrated by our conscious programming and instructions. After all, the "Word" is a meaning that takes an energetic essence, travels down the nervous system and expresses itself within biology. The digital nature of our soul, which conceives intention, the analogue nature of our avatar (brain, nervous system and body organs), they deal with the same informational package. The body itself is mechanical, carrying out instructions per say of the digital desires of the soul, while the brain and nervous system soak up like a sponge the digital data and convert it into electrical impulses to be communicated to the various lower organs.

@CabbageSandwich
@CabbageSandwich 8 жыл бұрын
+adamaj74 There's nothing in speaking "the best" Words don't mean anything to people. Winning, competition, success, it's a mind set. If you go in thinking you are going to be the best, not instantly, not easily, but the goal being to be the best KNOWING you can be, eventually, then it doesn't MATTER how good you are at something. It doesn't MATTER. Because the WINNER is always the person who tries the hardest, and if you are trying that hard then you aren't likely to be surpassed by anyone. And you will find every time you try to express your intentions or your feelings about it. You will end up saying the phrase "the best" Because that's what you were shooting for. People who doubt themselves and then say "I can be the best" to themselves. That's just wishful thinking. That does nothing. Because saying a word can't make you try harder. You got to think it.

@taitjones6310
@taitjones6310 8 жыл бұрын
+meepo44fromroblox yeah, saying a word definitely can. The man who says he can and the one. who says he can't are both usually right. Don't confuse this with instant gratification. If you try your best at one thing over a long enough time line you eventually will become the best at it. It isn't being arrogant, its being humble. If you ask anybody who is the best at something how they did it they will all tell you it was the result of hard work, practice, patience and time. About 2-3 years to start seeing results and 7-10 to be amazing at it. If you can make a ten plus year commitment to something and do your honest best at it everyday for ten years, you will be incredible.
@CabbageSandwich
@CabbageSandwich 8 жыл бұрын
Tait Jones You clearly don't get my point. I just said that saying you can means nothing. The only way that makes any sense is if you first assumed you can't. Better idea. Before ever assuming you can't do something, even if someone tells you you can't. Make damn sure of it.

We use 100% of our brains with the 5 to 10% we activated. No myth there. If we want to use more we have to do things that create more neurons and pathways. Yoga definitely create more nerves because you are doing poses you definitely never done before and meditation as well. People who mediated and did yoga PROPERLY for many years are at a higher quality and frequency than people who do nothing.

Your entire educational career is spent being shoved and crammed forcibly down "inside the box" and you are even reprimanded for every instance of thinking differently..... Everybody shoves you in a box your entire life then the very instant you leave school and enter the job market, all you hear is that they want someone to "think outside the box"!! It's bullshit..... In reality, They absolutely do NOT want ANYoNe who truly thinks "outside the box"!! If you genuinely DO think "outside the box", nobody wants anything to do with you!! Sorry, I just hate Liars and Hypocrites!! If they Really wanted "outside the box" styles of thinking, then why does everyone exclusively hire only people who have spent their Entire Lives "inside the box"?!? Riddle me that!!

I'm not sure about this 5% brain business. I thought this was debunk. I totally agree with thinking AND trying to be the best at something of importance to you. Pre University I wasn't good at exams at all because I subconsciously told myself I couldn't do better than I was already doing. I just made it into Uni. At University I totally changed my attitude and believed I could do much much better - I did. All my lecturers wanted me to stay on and do a PhD. I went from being crap to being offered PhD studies.

To be clear...when it is heard that normally we use only 10 % of our brain is because in medicine it is known that the brain it is formed by 10% (more or less)of working neurons and the rest are other kind of cells dedicated to link the neurons and to release certain kind of substances needed for its functions...so in other words we normally use all our capacity...we can increase and improve our memory velocity and performance for the long and the short term and train our power of observation therefore our speed to response and resolve problems...but nobody can increase his her IQ from 100 to 190 (Ex:Mozart was 140) by exercising....just because physically there is no single brain that has the same amount of neural cells and connections ...

+juliotube1970 Ever did an IQ-Test? It's like a freaking game, do it often and you will get better at it. The 2nd time I did an IQ-Test I already knew what to expect(had no idea beforehand) and was 30% better than the first time. I consider myself pretty stupid because I spend half my life gaming and being ignorant. Took me one year to play better guitar than people who successful completed music college. The year later I focused on my knowledge about nutrition and history, I probably am able to discus everything with any professor bout these topics. Right now I want to get on a professional level on playing Billiard, Darts and Bowling. You can literally train everything so long you put the will and effort into. In these age we live probably at least 60 years, focus one year on anything and you will achieve greatness. I will become "THE BEST", in everything. (maybe not in english grammar tho xD) Play memory games for 3months everyday for 30minutes, don't tell me you won't get an better IQ-Test result.

+juliotube1970 IQ does not determine intelligence, psychologists are aware that it's flawed. It's well known in the academic community, only ignorant still use IQ tests as a basis for intelligence. Also, i'm pretty sure mozart didn't take one, i don't even think they were around at the time..

Grey Alien i dont think that there is a huge gap between the capabilities and limitations of various people, imo everyone has the capabilities to be able to do things to a certain degree if they work hard enough, and i really believe that thats just the difference between being a once in a decade genius, and once in a millenium genius. u might think its false hope, thats okay, but in my opinion, and what i think and believe is that its possible, for everyone to reach a certain degree of ability with hard work. it's simply my belief.

This is so true. And this works. I personally have realised it. 10 months prior to my board exams I set my mobile password as "I wanna be a topper in 2016". And each time I unlocked my phone this phrase did alert my brain, that I must do the job that inches me closer to my goal. Yes, by repetition, this got embedded in my subconscious mind, and I really worked hard consciously, as well as subconsciously. My laziness was gone (I know not how). And yes, I topped my school. :)

actually he missed a vital part of "think yourself the best". The procedure should be like this: (1) Do not only think yourself the best. (2) Visualize yourself moving to the center stage with huge crowd cheering for you (3) only visuals can not do miracle you have adapt the habit to listen the sound of cheering .(4) Temperature raising due to large lights around the stage. (5) people around you tries to touch you for once they are desperate to touch for once. YOU HAVE TO NOT ONLY FEEL LIKE THIS , SIT ON THE CHAIR COMFORTABLY , CLOSE YOUR EYES .....NOW START VISUALIZING IN THE ABOVE MANNER ..YOU HAVE TO SPEAK LOUDLY WHAT ARE THE SCENES YOU ARE WITNESSING ...THIS PROCESS IS CALLED IMAGE STREAMING..IT'S VAST TOPIC..
