- UnPark Cores: okay. Thats good. - The rest: not good enough. Why I say that ? - Drivers update is only required when you need supports for new devices, new games. Otherwise, it is not neccessary. In fact, new drivers (especially GPU) tend to give you lower FPS (1-5fps drop compared with old one). New gpu drivers update only bring extra performance to latest gpus. Old gpus ? Nah. - You have SSD. But you did not optimize it. Services such as prefetch, superfetch, page file should be disable (if you have 16gb ram+, blazing fast SSD 》 disable Page file, disable hibernation mode because you DONT need those. In fact, given 2 files: pagefile.sys and hiberfil.sys would take up a lot of your ssd storage AND INCREASE garbage ratio in ur ssd > not good. Overclocking GPU does not yield a miracle. Yet, it requires you have certain knowledge of overclocking, heat dissipation...etc. In the best case, it might give you extra boost ~10-15fps and thats it. If overclocking yields a miracle, we dont need to buy new gpu (architechture), we just OC our shit. - If you really need to update drivers, use 3dpchip because it is freeware and it is pretty small (1MB i think). - Disable unused services, start-up triggers from both windows and 3rd party apps. (Look inside Control Panel / Administrative tools). For example: print spooler.....(if you dont have printer, why let it autostart?). - Issue TRIM commands to make your SSDs healthy again. Mine R/W is around 950MB/s but after a while it can drop to ~860MB/s. Issue "defrag c: /l /k" in Command Prompt to resolve this problem. The massive gain FPS method? Well, in my pov: secure erase, fresh install windows and games = massive gain. (Btw, double check your SecureBoot / UEFI natjve boot. It is not right when you see System Reserved partition visible. It should be hidden.)

Done some research for those of you on Windows 7. If you are on Windows 7 and don't care much for the Xbox One exclusives coming to PC and DX12 API, stick with windows 7 as it yields anywhere from 1-10fps more than Windows 10. If you're on Windows 8, upgrade to windows 10 because there there is still an increase in performance.

RealmolNL point being is that you may or may not have corrupted your registry already without knowing it.You wont run into issues when there are a few corrupted entries. Ccleaner does a good job on cleaning your trash files and browser history. Besides that most of the times your regristry will contain hundreds if not thousands of registries. The couple of dozens unwanted entries won't make a huge performance difference anyway. And if your PC is that messed up you should refrain from cleaning the regristry and instead go for a clean install. It takes more time, but in the long run will save you a lot of work when you have to troubleshoot the errors and come to the conclusion that you need a clean install anyway.

I have an i7-6700K 3.4Ghz. 16GB RAM. Nvidia GTX 970 4GB. SSD 1TB. Just want to play the Division smoothly. Been playing it since July on my new PC with this hardware and it goes from 40fps to 70fps. Always dropping and going back up. Plus my monitor is 60hz. I messed with the settings and 3D settings on Nvidia control panel and it made it a lot better. But I feel like it could be better. Austin Spraggins The 6700k is still extremely high-end, and you really don't have to buy a better cpu. The next best thing you could buy is the 6800k, but in a lot of cases it performs worse in gaming than the 6700k depsite it having 2 more cores, and 4 extra threads. You'll be good for years, until games really need more cores and threads. For the next upgrade, I'd recommend you start updating your accessories if you haven't done so already. If you've done so, you can upgrade your CPU/GPU, but you really shouldn't have to do so. Your rig is already ultra high-end, and the only good jump in performance you'll see is if you buy a Titan XP or wait for a 1080 TI if it comes, otherwise stick with what you have and save up for other stuff.

whole video is bullshit tbh except the overclocking section, that will gain you noticable performance 1) cleaning temp folder (and your internet history, lol) will net you 0 fps 2) cleaning invalid registry entries will net you 0 fps 3) defragmenting your hdd will net you 0 fps (although, lower loading times can be improved slightly) 4) optimizing (t.r.i.m.) your ssd will net you 0 fps 5) setting power profile to "maximum performance" might net you some fps on average tho not when you need it but when you dont meaning that complex scenes will bottleneck just as before while on simple scenes it will prevent gpu/cpu from going to lower power states and an average fps will get a boost (also your system will heat up way more, unnecessarily, and it might throttle later on because of the heat buildup so you lose performance depending on the situation) 6) disabling eye candy in windows might net you very negligible fps (will net you 0 fps on a high end gpu and ample system ram) 7) updating drivers might net you some fps depending on the game 8) just adding a game to nvidia inspector will not change jack shit, you basically added a default profile to that game and if you didnt do that a default profile would be used anyway, so you did absolutely nothing there 9) there are couple of settings in nvcp that could trade off very lil IQ for very lil fps gain, you did not use those (hint, theres a "high performance" setting that does the trade off) 10) interrupt managing regedit might net some negligible fps increase, have not experimented with that one yet 11) most games kinda assign highest priority to themselves anyway and also if you assign the highest priority to a game manually you basically made previous interrupt settings redundant because thats what interrupt management does, bumps certain things to highest priority and lowers others to lowest priority temporarily 12) lowering resolution and IQ will net you massive fps (but will look like crap) also, your benchmarking methodology is beyond flawed... "usually (fps)" wth is that lol... get a benchmarking program (or a game that has a benchmark section, or active replays) and get real values not "usually" lolol... i mean really.... bottom line, most of your gain came from overclocking, basically 98% of it

Borislav A. Firstly, how is that relevant and secondly where are you getting that figure from where just an overclock is administered? This tutorial has a plethora of tweaks and tips you can use to get the performance boost you see in the video. The thumbnail isn't that misleading, it's not like anyone's going to believe that their mum's 2007 $300 PC is going to get 150 fps in all the latest titles, there's some common sense that needs to be applied. Sure I'm not going to say that I don't do these thumbnail features to get views because that would be lying. The sole purpose of the thumbnail is to draw people to my video so I can make money, help people out and buy my friends and family Christmas presents. That being said, there are people who have followed this tutorial and have gotten huge fps boosts anywhere from 60-100, which is crazy.

Well I don't know about you Karina but 180'000 views is a lot of people viewing a video from a KZbinr with under 10'000 subscribers. It works, I wouldn't just make a 20 minute video, spending hours editing it together and researching the tips and such used in it, for no reason. The reason it doesn't have millions of views is because millions of videos get uploaded every single day, so videos like mine can be lost, especially with KZbin's new algorithms. Not only that but you have to take into account the fact that not everyone who has a PC is going to be searching this. Also, thanks Balint. Means a lot :)

TheNecroCat when you install a Gpu update for nvidia you can do a custom installation and there's a box that says ~install these drivers as new~ there are other ways to do it and plenty of tutorials on KZbin.

Go for an I7 6700K, GTX 1080, 16gb of 2400mhz ram, asus sabertooth z170 motherboard, evga 750w g2 supernova, nzxt kraken x61, Phanteks enthusiasts evolv, 500gb Samsung 850 Evo ssd, 3tb wd Blue hdd and Windows 20 key from g2a. That should be less than 2K.

A good case is still important. You don't want to have top of the range specs inside a cheap, crappy case. A case can affect how hot your components run, how many drives you can have, cable management, what GPUs will fit, if you can watercool your hardware, how loud your PC is etc. Not only all that, but you want your PC to look nice and premium, not plasticy and shit, it's very important. If you get one with lots of fans that'll mean a lot of dust and a lot of noise, regardless of whether they're rated as quiet or not. Popular choices are usually, NZXT H440, S340, Phanteks enthoo cases, Zalman Z9 Neo, Fractal Design R5 and so on, if you wanted a few examples.

My Specs: Ryzen 7 3700X @ 4.3Mhz RX 5700 16GB 3200 RAM SSD and HDD (games on both) I'm happy I stumbled onto this video. Don't have trouble with playing any game I want at max to high settings but I'm always trying to squeeze as much out of my rig as I possibly can and I honestly got a big bump in performance just by following this video. I'm looking at a solid 15 to 25 extra frames in SQUAD at max settings playing at 1440p. Sadly for whatever reason I couldn't give SQUAD high priority though. Just wouldn't let me, even when trying to launch task manager as admin. I haven't even put an overclock on my GPU yet (other than the conservative auto OC settings found in Radeon Adrenaline) so I gotta look up how I'm going to go about doing it manually in Afterburner without frying my card... but for now I'm content with the improvements I got now. Excited for these RX 6000 series cards!
