WORKAROUND: I could not get my water-saver out. I think since this video some manufacturers are encasing them in the plastic mold and you cannot remove them! What I did was simply DRILL a hole right through the middle of the water-saver and that made my pressure normal!!! Huge difference!

@UOlover13 while this might not help you now, I took a pair of larger needle nose pliers to it. I inserted them into the shower head into the center area of the blue plastic, turned the whole thing upside down, and carefully whacked it on a hard surface about a half a dozen times, checking to ensure I was in the right area each time. Eventually the center area snapped out and I carefully removed any loose bits, leaving just a blue ring. Worked like a charm.

I just used a regular screwdriver to screw a drywall screw into the center of the blue water saver. This gave me something to pull on with pliers. It came out very easy this way. Thanks!

I have poor water pressure in my house, I pulled my whole assembly apart and couldn’t find any water saver in there. I’m in New York so maybe it depends on what part of the country or world these products come from?

in many places in NY the are putting the water savers on your lines that enter your house, so you cant even remove.

@spididerman3 жыл бұрын
I only took out the small ring inside the plastic out because I was scared I couldn't put it back in when I have to move in the future. Just removing the small ring gave me a big difference in pressure and I can put it back in when I move.

Some are more painful than others, but worst case you can always drill it out
@57precision2 жыл бұрын
I got mine by screwing two deck screws into it at a slight angle. When you torque the screws they will create a wedging action against the metal showerhead case and the restrictor pops right out. Probably easier just to drill a big ass hole in it though.

@nicholasmelaniehunter49226 ай бұрын
I am wondering also
@FixinItRight6 ай бұрын
Nope, I did not put it back in. Just remember that if you chose to not replace the screen, you will need to use teflon tape on the threads of the shower head arm. The screen has a rubber gasket that creates a seal. You do not need it if you use teflon.

Your video is so much better than the other ones I'm seeing. You even explained which direction to put teflon tape! You should be higher in the recommendations! My shower head has a red flow restrictor..i think that what it is..Its gotta be. I don't see any others that look like this though. I got this handheld moen though and it has great settings but i replaced my waterpik handheld with it amd the pressure was such doodoo! I really want it to work so, I suppose I should just try and pull this out. It has the number 4 on it and it is technically square in the middle. Also it looks like it is bigger than the space I have to pull it out of . Suppose I'll just give it a go and see what happens! Thanks for the tutorial! 🌷🍃

or use some TP or a cloth to protect the finish from the wrench... or wrap it with Teflon tape.

who is going to look at it and complain that its semi scratched ? Next it does not have to be 100 ft lbs tight, you turn it until it comes to a stop with the pliers, while turning it S L O W so that you dont scratch it.

LOL! I didn't have my (Leatherman multitool) handy so I used the closest thing to a pair of pliers that I could find. In my case, a nail nipper and a nail file. The nipper did its job and it didn't even injure that water saver's O-ring.

As a Moen rep told me they sell shower heads without the blue restrictor (higher flow) and charge more $$ for it. When all you have to do is this same hack on all shower heads so its direct flow.
