@@calebchin6597 my personal rule is to spam "meaningful but currently unnecessary tasks". I constantly switch between my command center, barracks, scouting scv, builder scv, camera locations (highly recommended if you don't use at least 3 already) and in between i "box" my scv' s, either all of them (to simulate evacuation) or 2 of them (like when i fill a gas refinery). Later in the game, all of these actions will be neccessary and so training them when there is nothing to do in the early game is great and also makes the early game less boring.

I got into 1v1 Starcraft II very late. Pretty much missed most of the early hype before LoTV. I remember watching this video early on when I was trying to suck less at ladder. Never got particularly good of course but these kinds of tips made it more enjoyable to play. For me and probably for many other lower level players, trying to suck a little bit less takes a lot of work and I imagine it's just orders of magnitudes worse at the higher level. Of course I know you've moved on to AOE and don't intend on coming back. Anyway, big thanks for how you helped ease many of us noobs into the game and then kept bringing so much daily enjoyment that could bring people through regular boring weeks and that could even make life a little better during rough times of life.

How basically everyone increases APM: 1. At the start of the game, hotkey 1 SCV and the command center in two separate control groups, and spam 1 and 2. 2. In the middle of the game, just click around with your army as much as possible and micro as hard as you can, even if unnecessary. 3. In late game, move your army back and forth. 4. If you don't know what you are doing, just spam keys

I don't know if it really mattered, but getting an actual keyboard overnight increased my APM by 20. I was previously playing on a laptop, but on an actual full size keyboard I found it much easier to use hotkeys. On the smaller laptop keyboard, i'd often fatfinger the hotkey buttons and doing shit / control + button wasn't as automatic. Also the spamming seems pointless but it definitely has a function. After I got into the habit of cycling through my hotkeys for no real reason, I often catch things I would have missed (like not missing a chance to upgrade or build units from certain buildings, making workers, etc), or not 'forgetting' to build units during combat. My macro has definitely improved tons after getting into the spamming habit. Now onto my sore forearms, lol.

You mean Masters on US server ? right? Toss has always been low apm , there's so much that you don't really need to think about. Toss has super strong units and tight defense. In-control used to have 120apm and get masters. Just milking those units and defenses to the extreme. Tighten up your build order and you can do it too. US players are horrible at scouting(not the pro's).

@@legasius9358 there are a lot of uses for protoss. Specifically warp prism micro, storm drops, blink stalkers in early fights, Phoenix use. The faster you, the more you find to do.

APM over 30 is solid, you can defeat players with 200 APM if you have a solid 30 with meaningful commands and good Macro, now it helps to be faster for certain, but I think most pro players could probably cut their APM in half and still dominate. They prefer to stay hot and active.

One on control groups, including camera and how you recommend seting for each race. Example some terrans hotkey all production buildings in one number and use tab. Is that better than one number for barracks, one for factory and one for starport? Stuff like that

Luis G I do group my production, rax, factories, and starports. heres my usual keybinding: 1 main army 2 spellcasters (ghosts, ravens) 3. siege units (liberators, siege tanks) 4. orbital commands 5. production 6. upgrades (this includes tech labs and e-bays) 7-0 for drops and small groups for harassment

spam isn't about spam, it doesn't "warm up your fingers". This is the biggest misconception in 1v1 starcraft lore You are programming in the tempo of actions you want to maintain the entire game. If you set the tempo at 50 BPM, you are going to maintain 50 BPM If you set the tempo at 400 BPM you're trying to maintain 400 BPM

If you want to get to higher level , you're fighting people who are fast and know the build orders to nearest second. No matter what you do they see it coming and are already in place before you get there , whilst often counter attacking your base.

In the most cases the brain-thinking-speed follows the hand-speed. Spamming activating the brain. Left-Right-moves connect the left and the right brain hemisphere. The acitvating level (!) is better, you are faster, even more logical and more intuitive. With other words: Fast spamming makes you better.

nah, spamming is actually really useful. Exactly like he says in the video, use it in the beginning to warm your fingers up to the pace of the game.. it really helps in not feeling panicked or rushed when the speed of the game picks up and you need to start doing a lot more multitasking.

To be fairly competitive you want about 120 effective apm. It will get higher the more you understand the game, Spam is only there to help you push your boundaries.

a APM of 50 with senseful clicks wins more games then an APM of 200 with senseless clicks. I know these nervous SC2 players switching between army and bases once in a sec. APM gives no real estimation of playing good or bad, though the bads think so they got a high APM they are good players^^. I give an example for APM, what is the sense of clicking 100 times on "E" but only one worker is produced on each base, 1 click for that is more than enough^^.

The reason for spamming e 100 times for only one worker is you keep you warmed up in the game and so you don't go from 50 apm to 300 apm because it's quite jarring. Didn't you watch the video where he explained all this? Or are you one of those guys that thinks he know's better than the people who play the game for money :p.
