How to baby proof your cabinets and drawers without having to drill into them!

This really works! I bought medium size command strips for up to 9 pounds. We used one strip per cabinet. Two strips would have made it too difficult to open the cabinets, but I don't have door handles either. That might make it easier to open the cabinet. When I close the cabinet, I have to push the door where the command strip is positioned it will catch. But I am loving this. My 10 month-old cannot open the cabinet, but I can! No magnet keys to lose, no latch sticking out to poke you in the eye and no drilling. Thanks so much!!

Ok, this is the very best and the most convenient way to baby proof cabinets and drawers. Thank you so much for this! I used instead the 3M velcro the extreme outdoor velcro holding 15Ibs. Works wonders 😊

See THIS is a useful tip! Thanks! I had to slog through a couple of "here's a list of absurdly expensive childproofing products you can buy" videos to get here...

I've raised three girls and never had to baby proof my home. My grandson is so much more curious though. I will definitely be trying this. Thanks for sharing.

I am going to try your method on those odd cabinets I have that have no knobs and higher ones that they could reach so the have no leverage to pull jard

I used a chain lock with two padlocks to stop my 5 year old boy from the cleaning products in the cabinet. No need to drill any holes. But it only fits double door cabinets with knobs or handles. Super easy to use. It seems my hubby bought it from Amazon(POSSPO cabinet lock). Hope this helps you.

Sami Samo the 3M picture hanging wall stripes. They come in different weights for picture hanging. The stronger the grip the heavier weight limit you need. Hope that helps!

I'm going to do this. The actual child proofing "hook" things won't allow my cabinets to close all the way for some reason. This looks like it would be perfect though.

I used silicone wrist band and a screw hook. So much tighter and safer. We are guardians for grandson so CPS wants everything done. Well, not my first rodeo and dealing with my granddaughter, the ....OMG she is clever. She defeated all the child locks. Persistent little kid. I tried the band on the knife drawer that has a pull knob. The band was too tight for her so she gave up. She figured out all the latch types, magnetic too expensive for the amount of drawers, the wedged board thru other handles she broke the handles off.

I cant find any strips that hold over 16 pounds. Where did you get these? I checked Amazon, Lowes, Home depot and Walmart. I haven't been to Target yet. Thanks :)

Linn Tang 0秒钟前 I could not find any trips that can hold over 12 pounds. I ended up using a chain lock with two padlocks to stop my 5 year old boy from the cleaning products in the cabinet. No need to drill any holes. But it only fits double door cabinets with knobs or handles. Super easy to use. It seems my hubby bought it from Amazon(POSSPO cabinet lock).

It didn’t work.... my granddaughter was able to open the doors. I used 16lb.
@lindseyclancy17084 жыл бұрын
I would use ones that could hold more than 16lbs. 16lbs is basically what a child that can walk weighs. You need to use a higher weight limit.
