Do the active molecules asiatic acid, madecassic acid and asiaticoside in centella dissolve better in oil or water? Is the hydrosol stronger or is the oil you're making stronger? As far as I know, asiatic acid and aciatic acid, the molecules responsible for collagen production, are better soluble in oil.

Asiatic acid has slight solubility in water but oil is not a good solvent as well. These chemicals have good solubility in ethanol organic solvent. When using oil, it is better adding a small amount of ethanol to help dissolve better.
