This has been gold , simple understanding with great delivery, I am confident that I can break par again on my local courses, 25 years ago I was under par a number of times with tight draws and chipping techniques. I have always tried to stay still and am now hitting consistent scores under 80. I am probably 'playing the course better than I ever have. Thanks Jim, coach of the year in my book.

I've been playing golf for 52 years. I went to the range late this afternoon and tried this set up . One word ; amazing. I have been fighting my body and spraying the ball around for a month. Remembered seeing Jim's teaching method and tried it. Hitting the ball higher and more solid than I can ever remember, with a nice baby draw. I dont care what it looks like , I was so balanced. Try it please.

I’ve learned this technique. Thank you Jim. I’ve also learned it helps me if I take the club “across the line” at the top. Then the swing path comes naturally. Effortless and accurate direction and trajectory. This guy is a game changer.

I have been using Jim's method for a few rounds now...Incredible...I am a 15 handicapper and shot 41 on the front 9 yesterday from the back tees (After a disastrous 8!! on the first hole..) I shot a 44 on the back but I had a couple of 7 due to poor putting and chipping...I really need to sign up for the school to get my game consistent...

I’ve been playing for 4 months, watched many videos and they have all helped me understand the golf swing. Consistency is my problem, and I have problems getting the divot after the strike. I have been moving my body closer to the ball lately with some success, but I am going to try this setup when I play next. I wanted to try it for the last 2weeks but when Sunday comes it’s been too cold to play. This Sunday is supposed to be nice so I’m going to try it. What I like about you versus all the other coaches on KZbin is that they all say the same thing, you have a completely different strategy. Sometimes I feel like the other coaches are just copying each other but I understand that they’re using what they’ve learned over the years and golf. This looks to be revolutionary when it comes to the golf swing and for those with tight muscles or little movement, this can help get faster swing speeds without sacrificing the swing. Thanks for sharing your methods and for being easy to listen to.

I’ve always toyed with the idea and it made sense intuitively to just set my weight on my left side and leave it there. Well I stumbled on these videos a few weeks ago. I played 18 holes yesterday for the first round of the year and tried this technique. Well I shot an 81 and this was in 15-20 mph wind and not very warm in Idaho. Would have easily broke 80 but that was putting as I missed 3 or 4 from inside 5 feet. I didn’t hit every shot perfect but I was able to take a divot after the ball which I never do! I would consider myself a sweeper and when I normally try to take a divot I just hit it fat. I realize now it’s because I was always thinking of actively trying to hit down on the ball and with my weight stuck on my right/trail side. It doesn’t work that way. With this method the divot occurs as a consequence of the club bottoming out after the ball which is a result of your weight being on your left side at impact which is a result of setting and leaving it there in the first place. My best shot of the round was out of a divot in the fairway. It was a bad one but I struck it pure with an 8 iron and took a divot after the ball and put it on the green hitting straight into the wind. I would never have been able to hit that shot with my old setup! I will be signing up for the class soon! Thanks Jim!

Sir Jim Venetos, Hello. You are right. I saw an old man doing this and I was watching him from his behind and I got his position and could send all balls to the same spot with all my drivers after six months ain't work with more than number 8. You know I have started hitting balls with numbers 9 to 4 and was amazed how I could make it as in the past I did not dare to even touch the number 4. You are amazing and now I am thinking that I can be somebody in a Golf. In the end, this old man today just said me to watch you on KZbin and found out how 75 years old man could do that. God Bless you. Regards.

@@bobcunninghamgolf Hi Bob, Greetings out of Germany from somebody almost as "ancient" as you. I noticed that you are a certified instructor of Brian Sparks' Easiest SWING method, which to me seems to be the opposite of Jim Venetos' system. Jim's central tenet is stillness, Brian's movement ("la danse du golf"). You cannot dance and remain still at the same time. Could you please explain why you endorse both the EASIEST SWING method and Jim Venetos.. Thank you for a reply in the not too distant future.

Hi Jim, I literally just stumbled upon your videos yesterday. Very intriguing! You have validated some of what I've been doing within my own swing. Although what I am doing has worked very well for me, with improved ball flight and accuracy - I really didn't have much confidence in my methodology - because until now, I hadn't seen anyone endorse anything similar. Been a disciple of this JV swing for 2 years now. Since I haven't joined the school, I am probably doing 60% of it correctly. Then I started losing distance (I'm 54 yo and short @ 5ft 2inch) so I sort of cooled off and used a modified version. Then my back started hurting 2 months ago so I went back to JV swing again. I'm quite surprised that I can apply it now up to my driver! Found 2 key actions that I was missing out - relaxed swing, slight shoulder bend over the ball. I'm hitting all the balls where I want and played the best game of my life. Thank you Jim. One of these days, I will join the school. I promise. 😇😇😇

Jim - I’ve been playing badly for 18 months (with three different teachers). I tried your setup today and it wasn’t good; it was fantastic! I expected to hook or pull the ball; I hit it dead straight. In addition, I hit a penetrating, slightly lower ball flight; and much further, and consistent. I don’t know why this worked after 18 months of terrible contact, and I don’t care. It feels like 95% of the benefit is in the set up, 5% in the actual swing. Thanks for thinking outside the box. I’m thrilled so far!

This all sounds too good to be true. It's not. I've always fought over the top and this fixed me right up when I committed a couple months to his method. After 25 years golf has never been so fun. My shots for 25 years were push slice right or pull left. That's it. Now after a few months, just had a guy come up to me at the range and asked how I was drawing it like that. Perfect push draws one after the other. He assumed I had a ton of lessons, im self taught. Pointed him Jim's way. I don't usually comment on vids but the turn around for me was nothing short of amazing. Jim is on point for sooo many amateurs over topping their golf lives away. Commit to doing it just like he says and it'll come. I tinkered thinking I could ad lib parts of it to make it mine. Nope. Always made it worse. He has thought this through and reduced it to the necessities amateurs can handle. You can tell by the content of the comments too. Look around and see if you can find so many success stories in the yt comments for videos about dropping hips and perfect wrist positions. I haven't seen it. This is the real deal content average golfers need.

Is this a correct observation? When you plant your weight into your left leg, and close your shoulders and stance… does the center of your swing circle become your left shoulder? Have you (in effect) removed the right side of the body from the the swing circle, and the path it traces? In this, I visualize a swing circle with my body turned inwardly out of the way. What remains is my left shoulder as the center point of my swing circle… stabilized by my left foot (and leg) directly below it…that my left arm swings freely around. Do I understand this correctly? Thank you for feedback.

How do you get power for longer shots if you're keeping your lower body still?
@TheWedgeWizard
@TheWedgeWizard 5 ай бұрын
He’s not wrong about these things, it will cure a slice, you do need your weight forward, the only issue is you’re limiting power btw only using upper body to drive the club. Ground forces can add a lot to the swing. You can do all these things but with power. Also with the closed set up you’re going to hook everything, it’s a great draw set up. Keeping the weight forward is key but you don’t have to remain still, stagnance is a speed kill among an other things. Balance over stagnancy. In fact when he tried to use his lower body in another video he hit the purest shot he’s ever hit on video, you could hear the ball whistle through the air, it flew higher, longer & straighter than his stagnant swing which produced a dud of a hook.

I hadn't played golf in over 20 years and I was just killing time during lock down with my dog at a park hitting a 9 iron. I was just swinging the lead arm only simply to make contact with the ball and my weight of course naturally shifted to the left along with the arm just falling. It's very enlightening watching this guy.

Thanks Jim. It looks like your hips are rotating through during the swing. I’m assuming this is just the natural progression of trying to remain still and keeping your shoulders closed. Appreciate the video
@jimvenetosgolf
@jimvenetosgolf 4 жыл бұрын
Jason Miller exactly...what moves is a product of the set up and stillness of the correct areas of the body. Those who can open the hips while keeping the upper body closed through impact will experience the highest quality of ball striking but it’s very important to state that those who are less athletic or less mobile can still experience a high quality of consistency, power and control keeping their hips closed through impact. I display that in my school. This swing has a wide tolerance of correct; if you keep your weight on the lead side and stay closed in any version through impact you will have quality shots and quality misses at worst.

Jim Venetos Golf Academy. Thanks Jim. I’ve been watching your videos for a month & have experienced some really great and consistent shots using your method. I’m still researching but I’m pretty convinced. I think come Jan 1 I’ll join the website and jump in feet first. I’m also curious about lessons. From the background I think I know where your located (I’m in SoCal as well). So I’ll be in touch. And thanks about the profile pic, Paul’s always been my fav Bass player :)

Hi Jim. You say you pivot first, then take your grip. Is the clubface pointing to the target when you take your grip. I thought you would grip first, aim at the target, then pivot closed. Thanks..John.

@jimvenetosgolf
@jimvenetosgolf 4 жыл бұрын
wormburner all great ball strikers use their lead side in a dominant way...Freddy, Adam Scott, oosthuizen, Jack, Finau, Bobby Jones...but they don’t need the aid of the set up position to accomplish this. The system I teach allows the general population to have similar ball flight characteristics as pros even though the gen pop doesn’t have the same talent.
