How to inlay marquetry into solid wood

THANK YOU- Cain't wait to do this with a project in mind- a serving tray for a friend. So many GREAT tips. What seems simple has so many opportunities to mess up.

Thanks Jeff for showing and talking this through. I will be referring g back to this for a project in the near future. Just starting g marquetry last year and will do some inlay.
