Hey im using 2 different external devices which are "NI Komplete 6" and "Shure Mv88+" on different instagram live streams. When i invite someone to live stream, both interface and device stopped working and didn't work until i restart stream from scratch. I tried plug lightning cable off and on during stream several times but still didnt work. Has anyone experienced this kind of problem? Does Irig keep working even though you invite someone to instagram live stream? Thank you.

Great vid! For those having trouble with this method: I noticed the Y-Splitter only works now plugged into the interface and routed OUT to the phone, but it's roughly the SAME concept. Mic - I/O - Y split < headphones, smartphone. Will host a vid soon.

Does this really work? Headphones out socket on my audio interface is 6.5mm 1/4 inch, are you saying i use a lead with 6.5mm jack one end and the other a TRRS lead 3.5mm? Into my phone... And that's it?

It sounds like your interface headphone output (being plugged into the iphone) is bypassing the iphone's built-in microphone. the solution would probably be to just plug a microphone into your interface instead:o

Hi! I was just doing tests and the audio comes out in mono. I tried used first a mono cable from the headphones out of my interface to the iRig in my phone and, obviously, was mono. Then I used a stereo cable and still was mono. I've seen other videos around in youtube where all of them sound good, but in mono.

Question, are you still getting a stereo mix?? If the mic only has 1 conductor going into the phone, I don't see how you can take a L/R stereo signal which would require 3 conductors total...?

Hello, I have a samsung s10 plus. I have done what you just did. I can hear the sound from my computer but it is very quiet! I turned my Scarlett 2i4 all the way up, and my computer volume all the way up, but it is still really quiet. What shall I do? I have a live concert soon 😅😔

It must be something about the S10, i just saw this.. By activating Use Volume keys for media, you are able to control the media volume by default when you press the volume keys. There are two ways of enabling or disabling this function either through your Quick Settings panel or via your Sounds and vibration settings.. Have You tried this? There has to be some control in the settings but im not an Android user so cant guide you exactly.

For this i downloaded the app called FILMIC PRO because it shows the volume level meter so just make sure is not clipping red. Another simple check is to record a short clip then disconnect the audio input to hear back and make sure is fine, if it is ok then there should be no changes after that and you´ll be good to go ahead with your live or recording. Thanks!

Heya mate, I just tried this setup on my Galaxy S9 with the TRRS cable and I'm not having any success... Do you have any idea why this would be? I have a 3.5mm TRRS cable, but i do need to convert it to a quarter inch jack when connecting to my interface, and i'm thinking the issue could be at this connection... does the size converter have to also have the three bands as per the TRRS cable? Sound quality have a much bigger psychological impact than camera quality, and most content-creator don't focus nearly enough on sound. BTW, your voice sounds real good overall, but I think you gated a low-cut filter to stop when you're speaking or something cause there is an annoying "wave" buzz sounds at around 100 Hz every time you speak.

you need to add a splitter earlier, from the interface output, like he showed. That said I can't get this cable trick to work so not sure you need to worry about it. But try.

Hello I have done everything you have said in the video, I have an Iphone and a UR22C interface . Up to this point everything works fine. However when I start Instagram-Live, the streaming continues to use the iphone microphone as the audio source instead of the audio coming from the UR22C. This is correct. And with the 6i6 You get 2 headphone outputs so it is perfect since You can control separate volume levels going to your phone and to your headphones.
