if u have the filter delete kit on there why not just bypass the housing all together ur lift pump will take care of the priming and u could use the shrader valve to bleed the air out

Good mention on the copper washers! Someone did the injectors on my truck and had 2 in there!! Leaking coolant since day one.

@@TruckMaster yeah lol unfortunately. I put 100,000 miles on them. Another one didn't even have one in it! Glad I had it done right with a shop after that. Never smoked or hazed always started right up. Balance rates were good you just had to add coolant after 3 or 4 months.

I've always understood you need to see your fuel flow rate and figure out the injection balance rates based upon the actual for rate to figure an accurate injector balance rate. Is that true?

I'm right there with you dude. I've done my injectors twice. The first time I paid someone to do them. The second time I did them myself and realized how much the guys I paid to do them didn't do. They literally only replaced the injectors and nothing else. Hence why I had to do my injectors again 70k miles later.

Well done video. Couple of questions... How many miles are on the engine/old injectors ? Those were in bad shape. Do you occasionally run an injector cleaner through your fuel ? There are some good fuel additives for diesel on the market. Additionally what is the cost for a full set of injectors, and out of curiosity, what would the labor rate / cost to have a shop do this... such as your friends shop , Ryan's ? Kinda gives an idea of overall cost ... How many miles should you get out of these new injectors ? Being 60 over, what of fuel mileage are getting [mpg] out of your truck ? When are you going to do some interior work on the truck ? Don't the large offset of those wheels stress your wheel bearings , spindles... etc. ? How well do those low profile wide tires get around in the snow ? Ok that's all.

Truck Master Josh, I have an 05 LLY. It has 108,000 miles on it. Recently got limp mode on it and got a diagnostic reading of a PO201 code saying Cylinder 1 issue. I took the injector wire connector off and it looked perfect as did the wires themselves all the way back to the harness. The injector itself wasn't wet with fuel, but it did look a little darker around it than the others on that same side. With everything already removed, fuel lines etc.. I don't know if I can test the wiring harness connector to see if its getting the true voltage without starting the truck? Yes /No? Also, can I just change out that one injector with a stock remanufactured without going through the injector reprogramming? Thankyou Sir,

I do the same. I left the stock filter just incase the lift pump stops working.

I spent all day working on the lml, finally almost finished with the engine swap, it hard to do all the work on top of running a business. I kept getting an oil drip on the back of the block spent all day with a mirror and camera looking for the leak. Finally found it on the oil supply line for the turbo. It took a good hard turn to finally make it stop. That 15 mm is very difficult to get to with the up pipe in the way.

What if you have an injector that has a high balance rate for one injector, believing they are stock, can you use the same procedure to recode the injector in question or should you replace the injector? Injectors just installed in my LBZ. Programmed the inj, I used the codes that came with the inj. All but #6 are around .5, but #6 is 2.7. The truck no longer smokes, and power has returned, but my fuel mileage is horrible. Do I need to take the best return rate and paste that on the remaining 7 injectors? I think it might just be a bum #6 injector. Like Ryan said, the inj swap fixed my P0087 low rail psi limp mode issues, even though my return rates were low, and the highs were only 1.5 and 2.0.

finally injectors on a LBZ, just great video, so 2 things, I'm trying to find out if I need to replace mine and using my Diesel Evolution CTS2 CA Edition ( yes CA) I can get the balance rates but there a lot of versions about what they mean and what you have to add/ subtract, multiply/divide to actual meaningful numbers , if you have any suggestion let me know, next I assume that even when staying with stock injectors they will need to be reprogrammed , what are the option there Again thanks for the video

Balance rates show how the PCM is commanding the injectors in an attempt to have equal cylinder contributing throughout the engine. It's not always perfect data, but it's usually very helpful in determining injector health. Our injector testing service would provide the most accurate data on injector health. All LBZ trucks will need the injector trim codes updated when changing injectors as the PCM is used to balance them from the factory.

Couple other questions... since you focus on the Duramax.... first, I hear mention the desire to achieve 700 horsepower. What about torque ? I always understood that people wanted the high torque of the diesel for pulling power vice the horsepower people seek from a gas engine ? How much insight do you have on the Duramax used in the Colorado pickup ? Or do you only focus on full size trucks ? Lastly inline with that. Do you have any inside information on the Duramax engine that is coming out in the new 1500 trucks ? Ok, thanks.

Ron Thompson The 3.0 duramax 1500s are not great. I work here at GMC and we see nothing but issues out of those 3 liters. We still have a “sold” one sitting on the lot with 3 miles on it that needs new fuel rail fittings. Leaking already.

30% larger injectors are the most popular since supporting mods are usually not needed and it's a great daily driver/tow size. Usually 75HP gain.

By going off of the process for programming the new injectors, on your old injectors couldn’t you change the coding on the injectors with bad balance rates to the same as one with good rates, therefore not having to replace the injector at all? I didn’t even know you had to have them programmed after replacement.

Bad balance rates mean bad injectors. You can't reprogram bad parts.

A stock sized reman Bosch from Bosch themselves is what I'm gonna go with, and im finding so many different answers im over thinking about it.. what I wanted to know was if I replace that 1 injector will I still need to get the reprogramming done? Or does it matter new vs reman where say new needs it done but a reman wouldn't? Or since I'm only doing the 1 instead of all 8 or even 4 would that matter for programming? Sorry im so torn between reman and new. Im fine with either or but if I have to have the programming done for even just the 1 being replaced I'd have to take it to the dealer to let them calibrate it for me, but if I could buy the injector that didn't require it (if thats possible) ill go that route so I can spare the pain of the stealership trip! But if it doesn't matter regardless than I guess ill have to bite the bullet.. how long could u run it without the reprogramming since it's just the 1 injector? Would it be safe to drive 2 hours with it not programmed or even 20 minutes of driving? Shits stressing me out! Gotta rebuild my turbo, change a bunch of rubber lines, trying to do a decent budget delete im still in the process of and tweaking at same time and now this injector needs to get fixed.. I just need the easiest route possible on this and if I can skip programming it in any way that'd be nice atleast for now
