How to Install 7.3 Powerstroke injectors

Just picked up a 99 250 and valve cover a mechanic wrote Glow plug broken in #3 ... going in tomorrow to figure it out. Never worked on a 7.3 before so I appreciate the video. I bought it cheap as a no start issue and learning a lot on these videos. Thanks

Great video fellas, anybody that does this should remember to take off the plastic cap on the actual injector ports before you put them in the motor. I know it seems simple but you will not get any fuel if you don’t.

My truck does that long grank no start but will fire up after cranking a bit. If i shut it off and try to start it again it will fire right up. If I wait about 10 minutes, it's back to the long crank. Could this be the injection having bad o rings.Its a 2002 F350 with 156000 miles. Great video

How long should it take to get the air out. I just did my injectors and every now and then the truck looses power completely then kicks back on. I’m assuming that means it is hitting an air pocket. Is that normal. And she still rolling white smoke. Drove it roughly 15 miles since the swap.

What about the oil that possibly drained on top of the cylinder I use a vacume and a straw or u can turn the motor over by hand

one key step you forgot to tell and show was make sure you clean out all the extra oil possible before putting the injector back in, (edited) the other way you did it via the glow plug hole is fine too

Do that by blowing it out the glow plug hole should be in the video I believe

I am just a little bit halfway through video. Thank you! I have a couple of questions. When you pulled the first injector, you could hear the oil pouring into this cylinder. You didn't talk about the steps. Admit to be done to help, avoid that happening and hydro locking After you put it back together because of all the oil in the cylinder and the possibility of bending a connecting rod When you try to start it. Did you guys go over these steps, and I missed it or something? I've never done these myself yet, but I have to do them on my truck asap and I am trying to learn as much as I can beforehand. Also, after he Uberated the injectors, he pulled the tip of them off, and you said nozzles off. What was that, if I may ask? Nozzles, and Nozzles off?

Before you pull your injectors to avoid any oil running into the cylinders, are you aware of what steps those may be? Again though GREAT video and really appreciate what your doing with them all very much.

@@MikeConner.akaRadio I’m sure you could vacuum some of it out but eaither way some oil is going to go into the cylinder so regardless you’ll have to blow the oil out the glow plug holes.

By the way, that is a great idea to put the valve cover back on with a couple of bolts, And then crank the engine over to blow the oil out. All the other information that I have read. And seen just as to crank the engine over and it blows oil all over everything...

There are 2 oil plugs in the head above the injectors that are part of the oil rail that you can pull and let most of the oil drain. But unfortunately, you will not get it all and will still have some that goes into cylinder once you pull the injectors.
