Thanks for sharing this video. I did my best to understand how to install my three bank battery charger to my 24 volt trolling motor. I didn’t want to blow up my boat. Your video helped me understand how to make these connections so I can sleep at night. Ric

I watched one more video after this one and I made a few comments here helping some with questions. But I was still hung up on having charger leads on batteries that were connected together in a 24 V series connection. Then it hit me! You big dummy your charging with amps not volts! Nobody mentions that in their videos and I seen some comments that made me realize I wasn’t the only one. Hope this helps! Good video Led.

Is it possible to have the charger hooked up in correctly but still get flashing yellow indicators lights on all 3 tht do turn green? I'm asking because after this winter I rehooked up the batteries and have no accessory power. The boat dealer installed a 3 bank from a 2 bank charger last summer.
@led85412 жыл бұрын
The charger may be hooked up correctly but the cable going to your accessory pannel may not be hooked up right or its not hooked up at all. the accessory should be hooked up to the cranking battery. I would look and see if it is hooked up right it may be reversed .
@ernestodelao16012 жыл бұрын
Ok. Im pretty sure. I only have the motor cables and the #1 charger connected to the cranking battery. I have big plans with the boat this weekend but can't get to it till I get to my cabin this weekend its driving me crazy!

My dad has a 2 bank or possible 3 bank for his boat. He has the 2 12 volt batteries for the trolling motor. He disconnects one end of the crossover wire when he plugs it in to charge. Any idea why he would have done that?
@led8541 Жыл бұрын
Hey Tyler i have no clue why he would disconnect any of the wires to charge. seems to me that it would not charge . Im not sure what he has goin on without seeing it. Good luck with it.
@JamesWhite-tg4kw6 ай бұрын
Sounds like he is unhooking that because he was scared of the 24v series. so he ended up taking one end of the jumper cable off. so it's like charging 2 individual 12 V batteries 👍

You really should be seeing more than 3 years on your batteries, I use walmart DC and they last 5-6 years. I use Exide for my cranking and am seeing at least 6 on it. Great video though, tight lines!

So each bank is 12volts? I got a 3 bank 12v Noco and going to 24v trolling motor. So the jumper between batteries doesn’t need disconnected before charging? I’m trying to figure out how to charge. Great video.
@led854111 ай бұрын
no you will never disconnect the charger

I have a Minkota 2 bank charger for my trolling batteries. I’m gonna wire the batteries up like this for the 24v. Then I do the 4 leads from the charger to the batteries. Positive and negative to one battery and positive and negative to the other battery right
@carriep78122 жыл бұрын
Hi - thanks for the video, great explanations. Just got the same charger you installed in this video, but I have 4 batteries total - 2 for 24v TM 1 for all accessories, and 1 for starting. Would you happen to know if I can charge the 2 series wired batteries for the TM with a single bank? I don't mind if it took a bit longer, just looking to use all four batteries with a 3-bank charger. Oh, and I am not able to wire the single "accessory" battery and the starter battery together - they are AGM and Lithium. Thanks!
@led85412 жыл бұрын
Hey Carrie Im not sure about that probably should ask someone at your local dealer for that info.

Take a voltage reading with your meter set to DC between positive and negative posts it should read 24 V DC

So basically just hook em up the same way as if they were independent from each other? 1 bank=1 battery

Just to clarify your battery charger is 3 banks for 12 volt batteries correct? Not 2 for 24 and one for 12?

If his charging unit was cracked and broken like he said in the video then neither one of his trolling motor batteries were charging properly and they probably froze.

If you only get 3 years out of your batteries and one battery is cracked, then u r using poor quality batteries. I have just changed my everstart max trolling motor batters that was 5 and going on 6 years old. It was a 2 year warranty battery. $119.98 each. I have used Ever Start Walmart batteries for decades and for me they are best.
