I sure wish I'd seen this before I tried doing the binding on my guitar. Great work!! :-)

It amazes me to see how much work goes into an instrument like this. I really love the scroll you put in there.

Thanks Lars , I'm really happy on how they turned out. Thanks again for watching.. Always nice to see the people that were following early on are still tuning in!

Amazing work Tomy, That was good you told everyone it took 9hrs because sometimes watching videos its not apparent the actual time thats involved.
@HovingtonInstruments6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I tend to forget the amount of hrs spent on some projects from time to time. But it’s a great example as to why I can’t post a video every day. Happy to know you enjoyed it!

Tomy Hovington Tomy, I also meant too ask did you know that you can attach the binding to the wood with asatone also? I have done it on a uke you just tape the binding & use one of those tiny pipette things used for thing super glue. It works great & doesnt discolor the wood like some glues. Anyway thank you again you are Awesome

Stunningly intricate work, beautifully executed. Wishing you all the best at the west coast Tomy!

Thanks Maurice!! Love the west coast, we moved from one of Vancouver neighboring towns to Vancouver island. Now it really feels like the coast, smaller town, close to the beach and wildlife... we love it! Glad you enjoyed the video!

Can acetone also be used to secure binding to the body instead of glue?
@HovingtonInstruments2 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen acetone use to create a paste with bits of binding to glue the binding. Small clipping of binding and acetone in a small container and mix till dissolve to a paste consistency. I find it messy personally..

Is that electrical tape?
@HovingtonInstruments6 жыл бұрын
No, it's binding tape ( similar to masking tape but more robust.. Follow this link, that's the one I have in the video... I use the 3/4" in the video www.stewmac.com/Materials_and_Supplies/Glues_and_Adhesives/Tapes_and_Adhesives/Binding_Tape.html
