Great video , is there another way to recharge the compressor if you dont have the equipment to charge

Do u mean another way to add freon,if so yes u can get a gauge and nozzle that goes on a R-134a can at any local auto parts store,just make sure not to over fill.

I think I need a new compressor. I threw some gauges on my 2015 and the low side is high (120 psi @ 85 degrees ambient) and the high side is low (110 psi). The clutch engages, but the vent temp is only a few degrees below ambient. Thoughts?

At 85 degrees your low side should be at or around 40 psi,you have a problem and unfortunately I wouldn't know without looking at it in person to tell you what it is.

Hi! ! How much oil should be poured into the compressor?
@timzauto7 ай бұрын
Different systems have different amounts,look under the hood for the A/C specs,freon,oil,etc,I used 4 ounces of pag 100 on this one.

My compressor just went out. Do I need to drain the AC system before installing a new compressor, also is a vacuum test necessary, or can I just recharge the system afterwards? Thanks
@timzauto Жыл бұрын
I'm not sue what u mean by drain system. but always vacuum out the system if not when u fill up with freon u will have moisture and it will not cool ass well.

When pulling the vacuum, doesn't it also pull the oil out of the compressor?
@timzauto2 жыл бұрын
No, Vacuuming only removes gases, not liquids.

@@timzauto Thanks very much. I pulled the vacuum after changing my compressor and Orings. But I left it in a vacuum state overnight and checked it after 8 hours, it was still holding -30. This morning though it climbed back to 0. Now I am not sure what to do. Its not able to pull a vacuum.
@timzauto2 жыл бұрын
@@hizdesinezz sounds like a leak,either a leak or a restriction will cause a no vacuum situation,but if u already pulled a vacuum on the system,I would fill it up some and check it for leaks,with dye or a meter.

@@timzauto alrighty thanks Timz. Fingers crossed! I'll give it a shot.

@@timzauto Hey Timz. I was successful at replacing my AC Compressor. Thanks so much for your help. I measured 14F at my vents and its pretty dang cold. I wouldn't have been able to do it without your video so thanks so much again!

Is it an after market compressor?
@timzauto2 жыл бұрын
It is from O'Reilly's, part #57492

Is that a 2.5?
@timzauto2 жыл бұрын
Yes,but the 2.0 and 2.5 take the same a/c compressor.
