I really hate to admit this... but, I am installing this thing and looking for a few videos to make sure I didn't miss anything, and the comment you made about the usefulness of the wood packing bits sold me that you speak my language. That was the first thing I said at unboxing. My partner however said. "you should throw that away." I promptly snuck them downstairs and made a tablesaw jig.

Any idea why Bosch requires 6" of clearance to a side wall? Also, the manual isn't clear where the 6" is referenced from...edge of cabinet? Interior wall of side tub?

I haven't begun my installation yet. Would it be best to try testing out the dishwasher (plugging it in, etc) before installing the mounting brackets and foot plate, or are those steps important before turning it on?

I just bought one and they no longer have physical buttons. It’s touch sensitive, and can only be operated while the door is open. They also took a step back removing the countdown display although that really just adds another point of failure.

Any way to cover the insulation that is on the back of the front panel? The kickplate is behind it and unfortunately our kitty had been eating the insulation before we figured out what he was doing! He threw it up. We have to stack heavy boxes in front of the dishwasher and stuff towels behind the insulation until we can figure out a solution! We are desperate to find a way to block him from the insulation. We can' t use any rubber because he will eat that (ask me how I know -- we now have a new washing machine because he ate the silicone seal of our previous one:(

Every DW I’ve installed has the 3/4 water connection where you need the 3/8 adapter.

How do u know when the back leg is high enough ?

You can test it with a level, before pushing it all the way in. You should also notice whether or not it's level based on how the racks pull out. They should pull out, nice and even, parallel to the floor. Cheers!

No, I don't see why that would be an issue. I mean if it's dented or scratched maybe you could call the seller and get a partial refund for the blemish. But, it won't be seen when mounted anyway.

There’s an adapter kit sold separately where a junction box is installed. I don’t like this solution.

According to the Bosch website: "Can I run Bosch dishwasher with cold water? Yes, our dishwashers work without hot water and we do recommend connecting the appliance to cold water unless you have an energetically favourable means of generating energy from a suitable installation, e.g. solar heating system with circulation line."
