This video shows how to wire two Accenta + Remote keypads to a Honeywell ADE Gen 4 alarm panel. One RKP is installed in a nearby office and the other RKP is installed in the Garage. Up to 4 RKP's can be installed to control the Honeywell ADE Gen 4 alarm. Brought to you by www.ultimatehan...

Give u a tip from an old alarm engineer it's easier to terminate your tampers in a terminal block and label each circuit with a bit of white insulation tape , most common faults are tampers on a system , if you have a tamper fault disconnect the two wires and meter them to see if you got a short or tamper switch open , if you havnt got time or a meter to hand put a staple or wire link between where you removed the wires to get your system up and running because some systems won't arm set or just let the internal and external bells blare hope this helps

Thank you so much for your video as all I needed to know was whether there was mains power coming directly into the remote keypad as the alarm kept sounded from a tamper. It turns out that the tamper switch was not resting on a flat surface and was on a gap in back panel (I have no idea how long) so kept setting off alarm tamper. Now solid base and fixed.

In the remote keypad it has 0v (zero volt) terminal. Is that the same as Volt Free connection, and therefore is it possible to connect a device to it that allows for remote notification? I have access to the device, I am just hoping it will connect to the the alarm terminal with it being a few years old now. Thanks

Excellent clear video. Well done. I've just replaced my veritas key pad with like for like and now there is nothing at the key pad. Does this mean that I have to do something inside the main alarm box or have I broken it ?

In the main panel there are some glass fuses, one of those might have blown. You can check them using a multi-meter. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZqteWSinMZ7qLs&t Thanks for the comment 👍

For the tamper, could you use wire nuts instead of taping them?
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 9 жыл бұрын
Chem_Boffin6589 I'm not familiar with wire nuts, but they are bulky aren't they? I normally solder the wires together to be honest as that gives a very small joint as there is not much spare room in the panel. I then wrap the soldered joint with insulation tape.

Hi, I think that you would be better to use a through crimp or 5 amp connector for the tamper wire. Other than that great video.
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 11 жыл бұрын
You can do, but the problem is that they are bulky. If you have all 8 zones used the tamper loop gets quite large, so you could end up with 8 or more connectors. Thanks for the comment ;-)

I'm looking at installing a honeywell accents g4 in new house it says it comes with 8 zones. can I install two of the digital keypads or does one have to be an analogue one. also if your installing window sensors and two windows together in one frame would you wire both to one zone or would they need to be seperate?????
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 7 жыл бұрын
As far as I can remember you can wire up to 4 digital keypads. You can wire the window sensors to two separate zones or a single zone if you like, if wiring more than one sensor on the one zone ensure you wire the sensors in series (not parallel).

Hi, mine is in a garage which is completely dry and weather proof. I have had a similar alarm installed in my other garage for over 20 years with zero problems. They need to be installed internally in a dry location ;-) Good luck with the install

how did you hide the alarm cable at the door?. did you take out some of the mortar joint then run it up that trunking?. thanks
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 9 жыл бұрын
+CalumR 20 I just drilled into the cavity behind the block, then fed the wire through the hole and looped a piece of plastic around the cable, so that I could pull it up into the loft.

The tamper and zone circuits need to be wired in series. I normally wire the +12v and -12v in parallel. Thanks for the comment

Not sure, the main panel might alarm when you remove the keypad, also if you touch any of the wires together you might blow a fuse.

You didn't make it clear that you have to twist together one yellow or green from each cable for the tamper. Some people who aren't sure might twist the yellow & green from the same cable only making 1 of the tamper circuits work in only 1 keypad.

You did indeed make it very clear. A silly question I know but just to be 100% sure, if only installing one keypad, I assume the yellow and green wires occupy the two tamper terminals on the control panel to mirror the terminals on the keypad?
@ultimatehandyman
@ultimatehandyman 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's correct. If just using one keypad just put one tamper wire in each terminal at the panel and the keypad. Thanks for the comment

Hi love what what you're doing helping people with their DIY my son has just replaced a honeywell accenta alarm system as old packed in. But he has never fitted a burglar alarm unit last weekend with an LCD and 1 LED keypads 1 up stairs an 1 downstairs. An alarm works brilliantly.. but I'd prefer to have two external sounders 1 at back of the house an one at the front of the house. But he's confused on how to do this can please advise him on doing this as he is confused on how wire then into the alarm panel have Done an videos on this for him to follow as this would be a great help to him an make are home feel much safer an we would be so grateful it you could help him by doing such a video.. kind regards

@@robertnaylor8240 Basically, you just double up on all the connections, so wire the first bell box, then do exactly the same with the second bell box, just wire the wires into the same terminals 😉 I'm afraid I don't have time to make a video on how to do it
