Hey guys, I am using this new background music, what do you think? I want to use one so I don't spend so much time looking for new ones for each video. Any comments??
ok, this time I was in a hurry to install this canopy because of the rain so I decided to make a video because I did it a little different than usual. I don't know if somebody did this before me, maybe, but is a cool Idea.
If you don't want the canopy to have legs next to a wall you can screw it to the wall or to the roof, using metallic electrical fitting you can have the corners and and center done to hold the tubes! Next video will be woodworking related so come back :D .
Any question please comment!

Using conduit bodies as fittings is a nice hack. 👍🏾 I would recommend treating the EMT (conduit) with paint or something because it is not suitable for outdoors over time and will rust. If people don't like the music, they should learn to turn the sound down and appreciate the work. Not my preference, but it worked well for this video to me. ( Jazzy Nintendo😜)

Raymond McGee haha thanks. Yes. The piece that touch the floor is rusting slowly. I might paint it ! Thanks for the comment!

What about when it rains? Won't it flood up in the middle of the tarp and cave in?
@McScott76
@McScott76 6 жыл бұрын
Not a bad approach to the frame, but I can tell you from years of camping experience that you're going to regret not having more of a slope and an overhang when it rains. Water is going to pool on that tarp and create a huge mess when you go try to drain it off. Next time, you should make the pitch (slope) of the frame steeper and wrap the end of the tarp over the frame to create more strenght and prevent the tarp from sagging when rain water inevitably pools on it. Maybe you live somewhere that rain is a rare thing, but I imagine by now you've already experienced these issues.

McScott76 those are good tips but I live in florida with a looooot of rain and no issues yet. Thanks a lot!

Cool. Glad to know it worked out well for you. I'm thinking of borrowing from your idea to build a canopy extension for our camper -- same basic concept, but using schedule 40 PVC in place of the metal conduit.

Nice work. Are you using 3/4" diameter EMT conduit pipes, corner fitting's with an inside diameter of 1"? I Found a web site that sells them, just want to make sure I order the correct size fittings to accommodate a 3/4" conduit pipe.
@MakingStuffco

I used the 3/4 conduit pipe and the 3/4 fittings from the website I added on the description. Not sure why you said 3/4 with inside diameter of 1”. Nothing was 1”.

What was your frame size and what size tarp did you get? E.g. did you size down?

Jerry Ha 10 x 16. And the tarp was 10x16 on descriptions but they always come a bit smaller so they fit the frame!
