Great video Brian. It brings back memories of when your dad and I put in a concrete patio on your house on Quill Dr in Plano .. I sure miss him.

Thank you for this posting. The wall mounted brackets are a very adaptive modification. I am planning a project where an adaptation to this method will work perfectly.

I liked your ideas of coloring the posts to match your fence. I use a lot of Rustoleum to paint my garden displays to keep them from rusting and I spent all summer last year repainting my garden decors and chairs. I want to have a shade in my backyard, too but we live in a community that mandates certain things/upgrades to your house. However, they have not complained about my having a greenhouse in my cemented area of my backyard yet, so I guess I'm ok so far. Next, I will put up sun shades in every panel of my greenhouse (I'm cutting each shade to size and gluing them onto each panel cause I want my veggies protected from this hot Vegas weather! Once I get done doing all the shading protection for my garden plants, I plan to get a sunshade up so I could sit under the shade in my backyard cause that sun is so intense!

I like the powder coating especially for outdoors. The powder system was only $100 and the oven from marketplace was $50. I too have an HOA but they can’t see it from the road. That’s why I made it removable if needed. The paint is holding up well. I had 2” of snow on it and it held up fine. If you do it, get the heavy duty tarp.

Awesome canopy. It does the job. Thanks for video.

Nice video, thanks for making it. I was thinking of doing the same thing and tried to explain it to my husband, but you did a better job at it. Thanks again. I think I’ll see if it’s possible to bake the tarp retractable.

This is a great video. Thank you. My Huskies sometimes escape and with the amount of rain we receive in the winter I am going to build a roof system for them today, hopefully these ideas will help keep them enclosed in their kennel. I cant go with a traditional roof kit because I expanded my kennel and have to DIY it.

Looks like they changed their website around. Just search for the size and pitch you want.

How does this hold up in the rain and snow?
@fixthemthings3 жыл бұрын
Well it has been over a year and I never took it down for snow. We had about 2” of snow and it held up fine. Just make sure you get a heavy duty tarp. I have had no issues so far.

@@fixthemthings I appreciate it! Need a temporary canopy until I can afford to put a new roof & gazebo on my house. This was probably the best video I’ve seen so far.

Could I ask where you got the connector kit ? is it from a specific company that had all of the connectors,or were they individually ordered ?

If you pull up the description of my video the link is there. If it doesn’t work, just type in the website in my description and search for the size you need. Hope that helps.

Hey bud, I was highly inspired by this video to design my own 10x20, using cotton canvas tarp. With a cross support every 5 feet. Do you have any suggestions how I can secure the middle of the tarp to the center supports? I'd rather not put grommets in the middle as that would just introduce leaks everywhere obviously. Do you think I'd have to sew in loops? If so (Wish me luck lol)
@fixthemthings2 жыл бұрын
You probably won’t need middle supports unless you are in a windy place. Mine has been holding up fine.
@Delvaci010 ай бұрын
It hasn't been too bad, only a couple of particular wind events scared us a little lol. Biggest thing now is ill need to strip, clean, and rewaterproof the canvas. While neighborhood wants me to build them one!

Great video, well done. Question is the bracket you purchased at Lowes says it is 1 1/4 when you say you are using 1 3/8 pipe. How did things fit?
@fixthemthings2 жыл бұрын
I would have to look at the video again to remember. I remember it being loose in the bracket but tightens down good. The size doesn’t sound right but I think it was 1 1/4” physical size vs 1 3/8” pipe size. My tarp is just now showing signs of wear but nothing a little black duct tape won’t repair. I had 2” of snow on it this year.
