Nice job I heard you say at first you have a diode then you said resistor. But for those that's youtube learners it's a difference between a diode and a resistor. A diode let's power travel in one direction. It have a anode and a cathode it connects one way. And a resistor can be connected either way it'll still work.

you didnt need to buy those distribution blocks since the capacitor itself can be used as a distribution block. the bolts should be long enough to take on 2 wire ring terminals on each side. the caps are also too far away from the amp, you want them 3 to 5 inches away or they just end up as a distribution block with volt meter and lights. even if the lights dont dim anymore what you need to monitor is what the voltage your amp is getting. get a volt meter and hook it up directly to your amps power and ground source. dont go under 12.6v or you will end up blowing something. you should also do the big 3 with the extra wires you have

Quick question. Does your rem wire on head unit not get hooked up. Instead you just hook up all the rem wires to cap ? Even with 2 amps. Orrr can you run the rem from head unit to cap then amps to cap ?
@n54andmore5623 күн бұрын
I just ran my REM wire from the head unit to the amp and then to the capacitor.

Does the capacitor have to get charged every time using the diode??
@n54andmore5623 күн бұрын
No it's just the initial charge, the alternator keeps it charged afterwards.

I have a very similar power cap 30f planet audio, hooked up basically the same way. I've been running it nearly 3 years now with three 8 inch subs and an Odyssey AGM battery. Lately I believe the cap is starting to fail. And causing a constant drain on my car's charging system. My cars volts drop from 14.7 to 12.7 in a matter of minutes while driving. Even with audio system turned completely off. After changing my alternator it still does it. I' about to uninstall the cap and debating even putting a new cap in because those things don't last long. Anyone else ever had that problem?

So, here's the thing, can you have an amp without a capacitor for sound? Yes. Can you have a capacitor without an amp for sound? No. The amp comes before the capacitor, and it literally says REM on the connection port.

To my understanding, i thought that by hooking-up a amp capacitor helps stop your car lights from dimming. I have installed a capacitor in my car and still my car lights dims whenever it hits hard. Very simple setup. Any suggestions please? Setup Kicker 46CXA4001T CXA400.1 400w KICKER CompR 10"(25cm) Subwoofer Belva BB1D 1.0 Farad Car Audio Power Capacitor
@plaguewalker51087 ай бұрын
You need at least a 3 farad capacitor, bigger and better
@lanellhall48083 ай бұрын
If you still have that capacitor. Use the power and ground wires from the battery run them to the capacitor and then use another negative and positive wire from the capacitor to the amp negative and positive that should stop the demon of the lights
@lanellhall48083 ай бұрын
And if you are use a 1400w amplifier check the RMS of your amplifier I'm guessing your RMS is around 700 RMS or 400 RMS or 500 Rms you need a 3 fared but if I was you I would go get a (30 Fared). Amazon is where it's at.
@lanellhall48083 ай бұрын
I like this video but I'm pretty sure you don't need distribution block the point of a capacitor is to maintain good power to your amp and that will stop the lights from dimming
