Thanks for the video. So for the fan to be on, the ceiling lights will have to be on, too? How to wire it so that lights can off when fan is on? Again, thanks! We learned a lot from your videos.
@TheExcellentLaborer2 жыл бұрын
If you want the fan and light to be on different switches you would have to run a three wire from a switch box so that you have a separate power for the fan and a separate power for the light. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZTVgnWCq7aHhrM this video will show you the rough wiring for it. Thanks for watching!

Great how to video Josh, it looks like those ceiling fans are getting easier to install, I've put a few up long ago that I thought I might need 5 arms lol. Take care buddy and thanks for sharing your knowledge my friend! 👍👍

Oh yeah it’s not that bad to install ceiling fans nowadays. Of course there’s several different wiring methods for them depending on the switch situation. I’m glad you are enjoying my content. Thanks for stopping by Silver Grizzly!

Do you have multiple kinds of fans on your Amazon store as well Josh? Especially with remotes. A friend is looking and doesn't like box store fans that much. Also, all the smoke detectors are installed and I feel more comfortable having them where needed. Thank you again for everything you do. 👍🏻

Hey David! I did place a handful in my store. Some remote and some not. I’m thrilled to know your smoke detectors worked out well for you. Safety first! I appreciate you watching my videos David. Take care!!

I have two lights on my porch and I'm adding a fan with a light, like the video. Can you explain where you pull the wires from to go to the fan, and add some more detail to connecting the wires. I have very little experience with electrical. Thanks!

Does the green ground wire from the fan/light need to be connected to the fan housing if a metal box is used, or just to the naked ground from circuit?
@JohnR99652 жыл бұрын
If the quality is like mine in time the blades will warp downwards slightly. Maybe a year and half or more. I flip the blade over and again in time it straightens out.
@TheExcellentLaborer2 жыл бұрын
Was it this exact fan?
@JohnR99652 жыл бұрын
@@TheExcellentLaborer no. I think it’s a hunter I have. Seems like most of the blades are the same throughout all of the companies producing them.

Do you have a light bulb 💡 installed video? Lol great video this is my project for next weekend

Actually installed a lightbulb in this video. Lol. Are you going to do a remote fan or a pull chain fan?

Ok… good video but you should’ve recording the wiring (before and after) to give the viewers a better idea. By having just the after is not clear of where the wires went (specially for a novice to electricity like me). 😊

You should have shown us how you hooked up each wire before you put that electrical tape in there why did you cut it and then come again when it was ready why

I recorded that scene but did not realize I was in the way of the camera until after I went to edit. But you can clearly see which wire went to which wire. Sorry about that. Good luck on your project!

4:37 You seriously put three #12 wires in that fan box. It looks like you have 3" of sheathing on them too. Fans should have a maximum of 3 conductors and 1 ground. This is gonna be a good one. 9:07 when you see tape over wire nuts, you know there are shenanigans.
