Great video and the fan is working very well. The only part that did not work for me was attaching the Light Shade. It just does not screw on or stay attached and it keeps falling off. I may request a replacement light shade to see if that makes any difference.
@mikeolson30862 жыл бұрын
Follow up, I am an idiot. I installed the blade arms on the bottom of the 'motor ring', instead of the top. This did not leave enough room for the Light Shade to screw on. I can't blame the instruction manual, the diagram was correct. I spent about an hour removing/re-installing the blade arms properly on top of the 'motor ring' and the Light Shade screwed right on. DOH!! Fan works great and family loves it.

Picking this fan up tomorrow for our 13x13 room that gets way too hot for an undersized fan of only 48inches
@ceilingfans1012 ай бұрын
This fan is designed for use in areas of 20ft x 20ft or larger. For a 13 x 13 space, we would suggest a 48-56" fan. Installing this fan in a 13 x 13ft room, may actually constrict the fan's performance because there is not enough available air in the space to circulate evenly which could result in less air movement than a 52" fan. Just a note that fans do not cool the room, they create a cooling effect when the breeze is felt, but if the room is too hot, the fan will just circulate hot air.
@kjrwhs20032 ай бұрын
@ceilingfans101 you just contradicted another video I watched. The other video is direct from the manufacturer of ceiling fans and they recommend 60" to 72" for a room that's 12x12 or larger. I'm pretty sure they, the manufacturer do their homework when engineering a ceiling fan.
@ceilingfans1012 ай бұрын
@@kjrwhs2003 Can you send me the link for the video that recommends a 60-72" fan for a 12x12 space? I'd be interested to see who is making that recommendation.In the interest of full disclosure, I work for the manufacturer. The standard recommended fan categories for fans sold at The Home Depot are as follows: Small room fan (10ft x 10ft or less / 100 sqft or less) = less than 48" fans, Large room (12ft x 12ft to 18ft x 18ft / 144 - 324sq ft) 48-56" fans - and Great room fans (20ft x20ft or larger / 400 sq ft or more ) - fans larger than 56".

If you have already checked that the wiring is properly and completely connected, you may have to change the frequency of the remote and re-pair the remote to the fan. Watch the video at the 17:34 mark for the pairing process. If that doesn't fix the issue, we would suggest calling Home Decorators Collection customer service at 1-800-986-3460. Hi there!! I Bought and installed 2 of this fans in the same room, fist issue I have is that I need both controls to operate the fans from different locations and I can’t get both control to operate, if I program one control the one that’s already programmed stops working, the other issue is that some times one of the two fans miss the remote command signal and fans go out synchronization, so light colors, fan speed, etc are out synchronization and I don’t if there is an easy way to synchronize the two fans, I don’t think that this is gonna work for me, I would like to return the fans but there are a lot pieces to pack back in the box!!
@ceilingfans1012 жыл бұрын
We would not recommend using both controls to operate both fans from different locations because the fans will get out of sync like you've already experienced. Then it's a hassle to get them synced back up. We would recommend pairing 1 remote to one fan. Since they are in the same room (and assuming they are on the same circuit) you will need to pair one remote with the first fan. Then, disconnect the black house wire from the receiver from the fan that was just paired and do the pairing process for the second one. The reason that the second remote pairing is causing the first remote to stop working is because the fan is connected to power and the second remote is overriding the first remote. Disconnecting the power from the first fan after it has been paired will ensure that the second remote only pairs with the second fan. You can try to pair both remotes to both fans, but the remotes would have to be set to the 0 setting and both would have to have the learn button pressed at the same time in the pairing process. Not sure it will work out though. Let us know how it works out.

No, due to the Dc motor and color changing light kit, fan is not compatible with any wall controls. The only acceptable switch option would be noe standard on/off toggle switch.

We purchased a Makenna 60” ceiling fan On the box it states this fan can be installed to the ceiling no down rod. Also when you scan the bars for this app it shows in the pics of the fan. The last pic shows all the lengths of down rods. The very first item in the pic (left side of pic) states “no down rod” In the instructions it does not mention how to install this fan with out the down rod am I missing something. I bought this fan because it said it needed “ no down rod” on the bow and in the pics you can down load????
@ceilingfans10110 ай бұрын
There may be some confusion regarding the packaging. The top flap on the box has 2 charts on it - One has "mounting options" and shows "downrod" and "Slope" there is not a flush mount option shown in this chart. There is another chart that has "Ceiling fan dimensions" - this chart shows the height of the fan when installed in different ways. The "Close-to-ceiling" option is marked "N/A". That is because this fan does not have a flush mount option. If the fan was able to be installed without the downrod, that would be shown in the mounting options chart. The box does not claim that the fan can be installed without the downrod. The downrod chart on the product page online is a generic reference and is not item specific. The product description online only states downrod and angled mount. There is a smaller flush mount version of the fan (52").

@ceilingfans1012 жыл бұрын
For other standard AC fans, that could be an option. But, due to the DC motor in the fan, the only viable control option is the included remote control. The only switch option would be a standard on/off toggle style switch.

We are not electricians, and we have to say that you should consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about your house wiring. That being said, a red wire is typically a switch wire. @ceilingfans1012 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Due to the DC motor and the color changing light kit, the only switch option would be one standard on/off toggle style switch connected to the receiver (not a dimmer switch). The DC motor is not compatible with any other control devices like a wall mounted speed control. For optimal performance, we would recommend installing the fan with no switches. If connected to a switch, the color changing light kit may change color temperatures if the switch is turned off and on too quickly.

Make sure you are attaching the blade arms as shown in the video. The screws should go through the holes in the black bracket of the motor and then into the blade arms as shown at the 5:56 mark.
