this is exactly what I needed to install my drain.

Why only partially across the front of the garage? (Seems odd…)

Do you make a slope in the drain?
@SavinABuck452 күн бұрын
I slope the whole drain 1/4 inch per foot.

Great video. Was your garage floor graded already which is how you got your 2/10" grade per section for water flow? I want to do the same thing you did with the 1/4" plywood but i don't think my garage floor is graded like that.

Did you compact the bottom of your trench? Looks like I see gravel. Just so others know they should to prevent the sooil recompacting then making your drain and cement sinking
@SavinABuck45 Жыл бұрын
Yes we did with a hand tamp to get compaction

Yes it won’t last without good compaction first and using a soft gravel bed can of course make it even worse. However this guy did a good job by compacting thoroughly and then getting plenty of concrete underneath the plastic trench drain to help support it..

(If most of the excess water is a result of the grass bank) then a good French drain along the gravel (behind the low retaining wall) would cut a lot of it out too…

We have a French drain behind the wall and below the wall and still have some runoff mostly from the drive going up the hill.

@@SavinABuck45 you can only do your best at the end of the day, storm water run-off is always hard to divert.
