How much do you usually pay someone with 5 years experience on waterfront construction? just wondering the pay diff in texas
@DaleWHickman6 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for checking out my channel. Definitely don’t want to advertise my pay scale to my competitors. I’m sure you can understand that but I’ve had employees for 20 years if that tells you anything most of them are 15 years right now.

Curious.. I have no perspective. How much did this project cost to complete?
@DaleWHickman4 ай бұрын
Sorry it took so long. I looked over the question. Thanks for watching my channel and your question. Don’t really like discuss some prices on the Internet due to local competition but you can figure anywhere between two $50-$700 per foot really depends on height and ground situation.

Wow that's a lot of work. So much better than wood though

So much work - labor, material, ready mix truck access, setup forms, strip forms, rebar. And then the concrete cap cracks because of settlement. Stick with a wood or reclaim plastic deck for a cap

Thanks for your comment and you’re exactly right. Very seldom. I do concrete caps just because of the time. But when I do it cost.

Hey thanks for watching my page and your comment. We’ll use some releasing products but we also have use diesel fuel that works just as good.

I am looking at a property. But I want to make the Seawall look like the rock that is already there. Just enforce it. I do not want to take away from the beauty of the landscape. Do you know of a company that does this?

Thanks for watching the video. What is your location? Maybe I can find somebody for you in your area

I notice the dirt was not tamped to compaction under concrete on inside of wall.
@DaleWHickman4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and watching. You are correct the the concrete cap is pretty much supported by the wall. I don’t really care for compacting the dirt to much on a vinyl wall because it causes the interior corrugations of a vinyl to start to blow out. Plus it compact the dirt where it does not allow the hydraulic pressure of the water buildup behind it to flow through it properly into the drain system that we install.

did you use marine concrete?
@DaleWHickman4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and question. That is a good question. This seawall top cap will never be in contact with saltwater and is a few foot back from the water as well. I will definitely look into Marine concrete, but it’s not something we do a whole lot.

Have you ever seen someone want to pour a concrete cap on an older wall to raise the height?
@DaleWHickman4 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching my channel, sorry it took so long. I guess I skipped over your comment. Yes as long as the wall is tied back properly and is structurally sound enough to support the concrete. That is a good possibility to elevate the yard.

I'd like to see how it stood up 4 years later. Personally, I'd put up two barriers.

Thank you for your comment and statement. Four years later was installed March 2020 still looks great. We’re fixing to install a dock and boathouse at the same project shortly. Not sure why you would build another barrier. This is definitely the way to go very strong insulation with the rip rap in front of it.
