I have that gun and recently had to replace the strange wax like seals in the top that degrade and crumble into pieces. It was leaking air from the top. Did you ever have to do the same?

rlknight57 cant say I ever have but I never use my air tools with out putting a few drops of oil in and for the most part these stay in the shop. That doesn't mean parts won't wear out. Before the cabinet shop was shut down the tool always got regular maintenance so it could of been replaced prior to me taking ownership of it.

Mark yes it did matter just never noticed it in the video during editing so i never corrected the video I did take it apart and had to flip it back. I get so busy at times i make mistakes. Glad Others notice them, I never want t o guide people wrong Thanks foe pointing that out and thanks for viewing. .

I have two DA250A porter Cable nail guns. I had not used them in years and when I took them out recently they were both not firing correctly. I actually have a framer and a brad nailer and the same issue. I hate throwing things away but I can’t find the rebuild kits. Can you offer any help?

Frank sadly no there were only a couple let at the time I made this vid as much as I use it now this was the last rebuild except for O-rings I have a tool place that’s pretty good matching them if no longer available. I’m using my cordless Milwaukee finish nailer now saving this just for shop use now and then.

Diana Johnson sadly no. When i purchased mine I think they only had a few left. Don't know of anyone else that had them.

I have the same gun, end of driver came out of gun and embedded into the wood. About a 5/16" piece and literally straight across...I touched up the end of the driver with a grinder to recreate the profile, but no go....it leaves all the nails sticking out about the same amount of the piece that broke off. Paying 70 bucks for a piston/driver isn't worth it being as old as the gun is given you can get a new Hitachi for 110 bucks from Amazon with free shipping if you have their prime membership. A shame...as other drivers for other brands can be had for 20 bucks and less. A shame because I had less than 10,000 nails thru mine, maybe 3 houses of trim on the gun. Great for a parts gun, will list it on Ebay soon.

Have the same gun. Will only shoot 1 nail then sticks. Amazon has a overhaul kit No. 60073 that fixes the DA250a guns. Any info?

Todd Hoover i’m not really sure I’ve only bought any repair kits from porter cable but I know many of the kits have a couple of different applications and usually have a few items left over but I would just doublecheck make sure it does fit the model and has what you need for your repair and you should be good

Terry Tanker it was a company in Escondido California, but at that time i think they only had 1 or 2 left. Not very goo customer service. I DON'T recommend them. They have 3 different web addresses toolmart, orbittoolsales and another i don't remember. good luck

Well in 2021 my DA250A has the same problem but the plunger is no longer available. My nailer has shot less than 1000 nails since new and has now become a "throwaway nailer" just like those at Harbor Freight.. Except you're only throwing away half the money. Last time I'll buy a PC.

Mitch, i cant recommend this company now. The person i spoke with, after searching the web, took my order and i thought all was good. After about a week i checked on the progress it was coming from Escondido, Ca. literally about 50 miles from my shop. I spoke to another person looked up my order, said it wasn't complete my info was on file but nothing showing my item shipped. Ok, so he redid my order and assured it will ship the next day. I received it did my video. shortly after another item showed up. seem the first order did show up just took longer than usual.I contacted them via email and received a return authorization. waited 2 weeks contacted them checking on my return. Got an email stating the item was returned the the next day received another email saying they didn't receive my return. REALLY. I sent them a photo copy of the confirmation of delivery from the USPS. waited another week and they still said they didn't receive my item. Not my problem i have proof. Contacted my bank and got my refund and let them deal with these looser. I did research and found many reviews stating the same thing. Their customer service is shoddy at best. They have 3 different names and web sites hence their problem with orders and shipments. too much confusion. So Mitch please be warned and i hope you have better luck than I. I placed my order with toolmart, my emails came from tool orbit sales. The first i was charges $67.39 the second i was charged $74.03. I'm sure it's at least $75. I have DA250A nail gun and the parts diagram I have shows a plastic ring that was not in the gun when I took it apart.And was not in yours either.It goes on tip of the driver in that black ring.do I use it?after ordering it. thanks.

David not sure what you are referring to. If you go to ereplacementparts.com and pull up your gun and see the parts diagram what number are you talking about. My only thought is maybe your seeing a plastic tip that goes on the tip of the gun to protect the material from dents from the impact a no mar tip. Another thought some kits are universal and can accommodate a couple of different models. But let us know want to keep everyone informed for future reference.

It is called a collar part number 883919 .I don't think it belongs in this gun.The busted plastic I found was the piston grip,i found out yesterday so I ordered one of those. Thanks.

The color I am referring(part n#883919) sits in the cylinder press ring(part n#883920) on top of the driver unit(part n#903530)There wasn't a collar in my gun when I took it apart.And I watched your video and there wasn't one in your gun either.Why is there one shown in the diagram,and should I put one back in my gun when there wasn't one in it to start with. I need to know before I put it back together. thanks .

hey I purchased one of those guns today for 20$ it is shoot but the nails don't slide down completely could it be because the nails im putting in are senco nails?

Gab senco is all i use. If its not setting the nail first adjust the tip so the gun is closer to the surface and make sure the compressor it set to at least 100 psi on the exit and if still not setting the nail then it may be in need of a overhaul. there may still be a few kits around but getting harder to find for $20 id expect it to need work.

The Shack thanks for the reply! I did figure out what was going on! I took off the rail where the nails slide in and there was a nail jammed in it! I got the nail out. But I do believe it might need a overhaul because the firing pin isn't going hi enough to where it catches the nail to bring it down. Would you know where I can find the kit?

Gabriel they are getting harder to find. Google it and then call the place to verify they in deed have the kit and get it while you can. I really don't need a complete kit i need a trigger and a couple of O rings but may end up getting, if available, the complete overhaul kit to get what i need.

LOL no one has ever asked that. I had to watch this I must have forgotten to cover it up. It's a 64 Ford Falcon Sprint. I’m looking into seeing about doing a restore on it but not stock. Upgrades and if I can someway swing it I really like to drop a 289 stoker or even drop the dime and stick a blower on it. That may end up being put off till 2018 I want it done right and will out source it I can’t do all that hear

Fred wish i could I dont have the availabity of tool to do something like that. Chris no but i still need to do something about the trigger it does leak so i might look into these down the road i could replace the aging O rings but i am using my Milwaukee finish nailer more because its airless battery powered just easier to haul the gun around vs. the gun, hose and compressor. But i still like my PC for the shop. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching.
