I drilled a hole in mine (spark city) and put a brass pin through it and the wood. Worked well.

Where do you get a good soft farro rod

Depends on the size you want and if you just want a plain rod or one with a handle. If you want a ferro rod that already has a handle on it, go with Light My Fire or Exotac Otherwise the softer ones are called Misch Metal ferro rods. You can find them on Amazon or the one I got from GoingGear is top notch.

hey buddy just kinda ran across this video already subbed to chuck he is a great guy for sure . been subbed to him for awhile now . but i did sub ya buddy and im in if thats ok . not really interested in the ferro rod but the ceramic rod would be cool for sharpening my carving knives . i do the same thing with the ferro rods i make i use a dremel cut off wheel to make the grove i just do one all the way around most of the time . glad to see others do it to . got a give away going on my channel as well for a half inch by 5 inch ferro rod with a fat wood handle if your intrested please check out the video on it . ok glad to meet another friend of chucks .take care
