Should always use a new fuel strainer when you install a pump. They usually come with one, my Walbro 255 did, and the warranty is only honored if you use a new strainer.

Awesome Video man ,recommend getting the whole kit not just the pump..once the assembly is out you don't wanna run to buy a filter or washers just in case.never had any issues with Genuine GSS342 on EVO VII VIII Ive done so far

How do you remove the retaining clip for the fuel strainer? I cant get the clip off and don't want to damage it. Any suggestions would be great.

You call the big white thing the fuel pump, then you call the small tube you pull out of it the fuel pump. Can you please clarify.

I made this video 11 years ago... Here is a better one if you need to see what the actual components are. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIeugnqDd5hnd6c But to answer your question, the "white thing" is usually called the fuel pump hanger or fuel sending unit. The actual fuel pump is the "small tube" part that was changed in this video. I pulled out a stock fuel pump and replaced it with the walbro fuel pump in this video.

Fuel pressure should remain the same based on your fuel pressure regulator. But getting a professional tune is always a good idea.

Hi. I have the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES Wagon (GDI 4G93). It keeps losing power anytime I hit anything close to 2,000rpm. I did some diagnosis and it turned out that the fuel pressure pump was losing pressure each time I hit the gas pedal. Can you help? Is it a different kinda problem or does this video address it? Thank you.

Also, be careful about fuel spilling beneath the car when attempting this install. Mine pissed out when return hose come off

I Changed mi fuel pump, in order to get less noise and replacing it with an original one. Then my car didn't start for abour 5 or 6 attemps, the it started but it doesn't keep tunning, and I cannont go over 1500 rpm, the result is I cannot use my car, could you give me some adivises please, thank u!

which of these parts is the fuel filter ? and whats the big white plastic part? is it part of the pump or just a holder?

in this instance the large white plastic part acts as a housing which holds the pump, fuel level sensor and also has the filter built into it ( not all cars are like this). The poster of the video should have really changed the large white plastic part too as it is the filter.
