Is the Gardening Naturally Autovent easy to install? Sort of!
I've had this installed for a few months now and it's been absolutely one of the best changes I've made at the plot. Hopefully I will do a bit of a follow up chat about this.
Since making this video I have built a second greenhouse and installed the Bayliss XL window opener which is honestly much simpler to install, and a bit stronger:

I believe most greenhouses are like mine, a Halls Popular, and they do have a lip suitable for mounting this opener. At least three of my neighbours, in a close of nine houses, have the same make of greenhouse as me.

Thanks for a great video which saved the gadget from been chucked half way across Yorkshire in sheer frustration trying to follow the box instructions - fitted today following your vid and so far working well - however I did almost microwave myself in the process in todays heat!

The instructions on both yours and mine show two holes in the tube for the hairpin. Mine has only one.

Interesting! I know thar you can get similar products for louvre vents, something like that might work! Although on your balcony at least you don't have to travel far to go and open the windows!

Hi jb I've just ordered the same for my greenhouse and can't wait for it to turn up so I can fit it, are you happy with how yours works and did you leave the threads half and half or did you alter yours for a different temperature and if so have you got it hotter or cooler as you have the same greenhouse as me 👍

I left it around half and half! Unfortunately when I set it up first time, at the coldest position the cylinder was actually pushing on my glass and cracked one of the panels. Make sure to test it on a really cold day with it totally shut and check it doesn't do the same thing.

@@JBNat I actually fitted it last night and it was cool and raining , I did have to change which hole I put the bracket on which attached to the frame not the window as I noticed the ram was touching the glass , the window is heavy tho so hope it works 🤞

Yes there's info in the description, I found this one stopped working very quickly. I installed the bayliss in my second greenhouse and it's much easier. Clips for the frame/window work the same but the piston doesn't require as much faff.

Is it still holding by placing the bottom part to the greenhouse like that? Is it not being pushed down by gravity and force as it is mounted from below and not from above on the crossbar?

Still holding yes, it's un-nerving but they are designed to hold on like that!
