if your fork is still loose then you need loosen your stem until it moves without the wheel moving too, they you are going to want to tighten your cap on-top of your stem till there is no wobble, if you overtighten it then it will be stiff so make sure you get the right balance and then you retighten your stem on and you are good to go

@falloftroy555222 Standard headset works with stand forks. Integrated forks work with an integrated headset. you can get an adapter to use integrated stuff on a standard frame though.

the cups. the cups that hold the bearings are either pressed into the headtube with a headset press, or are pre pressed in, integrated, and do not come out

danscomp has some convertion kit that will make any standard headset into integrated, you should check it out.

you put the spacer on the top if you like low bars and you have a tall fork or short stem. I think it looks stupid but some people like it.

I've gone from a Premium frame to a Colony and the headstock is about 6mm shorter, hence when I tighten the cap down onto my stem the bolt bottoms out and everything is loose. Would I be best to purchase the Colony fork also (expensive) or are larger spacers available to resolve this issue? Thanks...

ok so i bought some new forks and a Verde headset. I noticed that my frame doesnt have built in cups for the headset bearings but it does have ones that are hammered onto the frame, but they are to small for the bearings. I was wondering if i could buy some bearing cups that would fit and if so where from?

@turtlekiller1000 Park Tools makes several but there are different headset styles and races. Some are threaded, some not. Also, you want that race to be seated or there is going to be a very dangerous condition. Take a look at your race and headset then check Park Tools for the proper tool.

Hey i need help, I am trying to install my headset to my bike, but i have questions. What parts do you install from bottom to the top (stem area)? And I have two cups that look like they have to be on the bottom and top of my frame and fork access, but theres already some on my bike, can i take it off and put the new ones in as tight as the old ones, and without tools? @kenneth1234567889 if you havent figured it out yet, i think i know what went wrong, if you didnt loosen the two bolts on the back of the stem first that would be the problem. all you have too do is loosen the 2 stem bolts and then tighten the top down after, once you have the top bolts tightened, tighten back up the two stem bolts and go back and forth between the two when tightening as shown in this vid. hope this helps let me know
