Why do people install these does this help prevent air locking when the boat isnt moving? or only at high speeds? Ive always had an issue with my pumps air locking when at idle or not evening moving

It keeps the pumps from air locking at high speeds. Pretty much a must for a stepped hull boat. I don’t see how air locking would be a problem at low speeds. It also makes the pumps last longer because they are submerged in water and stay cooler. You’re actually using bilge pumps instead of live well pumps. I’ve been very happy with it since I installed it. When I get the boat up to cruising speed I actually have to close the valve a little so it doesn’t blow the lid off of the live well.

I think you should mount the through hull fitting in different way, so that the slots are backwarts, to prevent high water pressure on high speeds..? Only on slow moving boats your way is better and preferred. Regards 👋

Neat install. But whatever you keep dragging across your phone mic makes this unbearable. If I sent you a tripod or a shoebox, maybe you could set the camera down? Another thought; listen to your production before posting, maybe? I like the boat though.
