Because the pull chains are fed down the middle, changing a simple lightbulb is much more time-consuming than it needs to be; remove pull chain fobs, unscrew base mount, remove globe holder, remove globe, change bulbs, replace bulb and bulb holder, refeed chains through tiny little holes, screw on base mount, reattach pull chain fobs...all while standing on a chair with arms extended.

Thank you for this clear and very helpful video. I just completed an install of a Hunter fan. Although it took me the longest time setting up the mounting bracket because I was switching out a 2xxxx to a 5xxxx and could not use the same mount. In the end it's up and running and I used this video for each section to help me along. Thanks!!

How do you get a new bulb installed in these with a globe keeper that is difficult to remove?

I have a wall swich and the fan has no light- I will be using the pull chain too, on occasions. Do the blue wire and black wires from the fan connect to the hot black wire? I have installed several fans over the years wit no issues- but the wiring is confusing and no explanation on the instruction booklet.

I bought this fan and it works great, but I had to take the first one I bought back to the store and exchange it for another one because the receiving port for the down-rod was rusted and the threads were damaged, meaning it would not allow the down-rod to screw into the motor housing. Not sure what to make of that, maybe it was made at 4 oclock on a Friday in China, but the second one worked fine.

Hello. Such a great step x step video. Wish more people would post all their videos just like you have here. I do have a couple of questions which I think isn’t asking too much, but apparently it is. 1. What gage electrical wire are you using? Example. 14/2 wire from the ceiling connected to a 15amp breaker in your breaker box, or a 12/2 wire with a 20amp breaker? 2. Since the pull chains can be used the same way as a light switch when it comes to turning the fan and light on and off... Would I really need to use a light switch at all, considering if I had a light switch it’d be on all the time to use the pull chains? Basically. Can I just run a wire from the breaker box to the fan, without having to fish wire through finished wood paneling? Can you or anyone help me with this? I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much. I just don’t understand why when buying Ceiling fans these day, it doesn’t say on the box or instructions, what’s the actual recommended amps required for the fan? I’ve even called a different fan company and they had no clue. I’m like... Seriously? I’m calling you the company directly and you have no clue how many amps it takes? They said no. That was turn of the Centry Taylor ceiling fan. I don’t get it. If anyone can give me real good advice, instead of joking BS bc they have no life so all they do is go around youtube day in and day out just to make fun of people... Don’t bother. "Secure the appropriate wires together" as she shows wire nutting the blue wire from the fan to what's presumably the black wire from the ceiling. So what about the black wire from the fan - where does that get connected? Would have been nice if this instructional video shared which wires from the fan get connected to which wires from the ceiling. Even the installation manual I found online from Hunter Fans for the 5 series says nothing about what to do with the blue wire.

If single switch you cap it off, if dual connect it to the extra wire whichever color is left.

Hunter fans offer a flimsy warranty, mine was 8 weeks installed when it quit working. They are sending a spare part but the repair costs are down to me.

I had the similar 5XXX series, the fan started to spin slow now it wont spin at all. Capacitor is fine, wiring is fine. I bought 6 of the same kinds. Now, we have 2 that is broken. I will not be buying anymore Hunter ceiling fans.
