I just did this on my truck. I used a spring compressor it made it easier to get out and in . I also used 1/2 inch bolts and nuts to make it easier to get out if I need to in the future.

Thats a good idea!

If you use a long cheater pipe and push the lower control arm down using the frame to push against, it would be easier to get the strut in and out

Hey guys. I have an 150 XLT Sport 4wd Super Crew. Here is the quote when replacing 1 bad front end strut on any vehicle really! If at any time the struts or shocks are leaking, broken, or damaged, they should be replaced immediately. Lastly, they should always be replaced as pairs. In other words, if one front shock or strut is replaced, the other front shock or strut should be replaced as well. Don't be cheap! You should have bought Quick Lift struts from any off road vendor. I bought the Rough Country 2 inch Quick Lift struts on sale for 300 bucks! Those pucks suck.

Since posting this, I have heard about replacing the struts in pairs. Not something I thought of or was told at the time. That being said, truck has felt great so far with the pucks! I'll keep an eye out for other options if things ever need replaced in future 😉

Thank you for this great video I already start doing everything one of the struts is on the car the other is going to be done tomorrow but thank you for showing that where you place the bolts is on an angle and how you fix that. I had to remove the cv axel that was the only way that was coming out I’m surprised you didn’t had too
@brodiecd70932 ай бұрын
@@guille20089 awesome! Yah it definitely helped having a couple sets of hands to get them in and out. Was a little awkward at first, but easier once we figured out what to do

Thanks for taking the time to make the video. I thinking of just adding the 2” spacer up top of factory specifically for ride quality to stay as close ti stock ride as possible. Please be honest, how’s the ride quality, noticeably stiffer riding up front or just like stock smooth????
@brodiecd7093 Жыл бұрын
Hey all good, thanks! And in all honestly, hardly even noticed them. Besides the truck feeling maybe slightly taller at first, the ride quality was unchanged. I've driven in trucks with front & rear levelling kits, and I find the rear level makes a truck feel stiff/awkward. And I never got that effect in mine, still smooth. That all being said, I'm sure it does change the ride to some degree, but not enough where I recall noticing anything.

I’ve got a 2023 Lariat FX4 that I had Falcon 2” setup installed and now the ride quality from stock being smooth to 2” coil overs riding and feeling like a 3/4 ton. I’ve only done the spacer once on my GMC 1500 and that drive bad too so I splurged and went CST with Coil overs. I’m just worried still having a rough ride but wth, I’ve already got $2700 in for the falcons and alignment what’s another $250 Ready Lift spacer kit plus alignment going to do? Maybe smooth like yours cause if not I’m going to just do a 4” BDS Coil Over Lift.

Looks good! Did it change the quality of the ride very much?
@brodiecd70933 ай бұрын
@@casehunter8376 thank you! Honestly not much at all! I was thinking prior to install that I would have noticed a bigger change in quality. But been impressed, still to this day as my daily.

I never understand why people choose the plastic spacers when there are solid aluminum spacers out there.
@brodiecd7093 Жыл бұрын
Not sure.. possibly cheaper than aluminum? So far, they've worked great 👍🏼

I'm installing the same lift in a 2019 F-150. I don't quite understand the right and left strut. In this video it says you'll have to use the left for the right and the right for the left. But it still doesn't work
@brodiecd7093 Жыл бұрын
Hmm. Not sure. You had to swap the left and right struts, as they're technically going to be sitting backwards after. As the spacer studs need to utilize the top holes in truck frame.
@kimboconsulting7746 Жыл бұрын
@@brodiecd7093 I got it figured with in minutes of asking the question... You simply rotate the bottom bushing to line up the 2 bolts on bottom. No need to switch sides.

Shouldn't you put new struts on both sides if you change one side out.

Supposedly yes

His video says the easy way. But it took him the next day to finish. And it also looked hard for him to do it. Lot of other videos show way easier than this

Just another option my friend, worked well for us
@peterochester23208 ай бұрын
Can't believe that you didn't replace both struts. (1) the good one will probably fail and you'll have to take that side apart again and (2) now the two sides will act differently with one new and one old strut.
@brodiecd70938 ай бұрын
Oh ok, didn't think about that.. but I can see the logic in it! I can confirm the truck has felt fantastic since doing the install. No issues thus far 🤞🏼
