Interesting design.. I had a Coreno made in 1912 and it’s rails were mounted from the side.. I always assumes all tables with those types of rails and pockets were the same.. Nice vid..

tazztt1 the way my slate is made and I think its the same on all slates .The hole needed to screw in the screw from the bottom is at the very edge of the slate and the slate rounded pocket cut ,so the only way to make it work is to not put the long bolts in the rail . Leave the rail bolts off for now , you can easily put them on from the bottom. -->

My bolts must installed while lying on the floor to access the nut portion. When assembled some rails are higher than others.

--> 44 inches short ways and 88 inches long ways . measure all the way down the rail .It should be 44 inch from tip of cushion to tip of cushion on the other side and 88 inches long on a 8 foot table. use a square on cushion tips in corners . That's the reason the holes in the slate are the size they are ,so you have room to adjust. Once you have it measured and perfectly square then tighten the nuts on the side rails but keep checking the distance as you tighten .

Where do you line up the pockets with the rails? Do you line up the rail face with the edge of pocket on the side pockets and where does the corner pockets sit with the rail ends? Does that make sense?

Why didn't you put the other pocket bolt in each side pocket when you put the second 'horseshoe' onto the first one? In this insallation, there are just 10 pocket bolts used. Why not all 12?

If you put the rail stud/bolts in the rails before you put the last two pocket screws in, you usually can"t put them in.This is because the holes are not exposed, and you usually have to be able to pull pocket out a bit from the table in order to be able to get at them.This can"t be done if the rail bolts are in.

This video doesn't show how to put the last two pocket bolts in the side pockets after sliding the upper and lower rails together. I would like to know how you do that. Thank you.

I saw where you responded to my comment saying this video shows how to put the last two pocket bolt. I thank you for responding but i looked at this video again and it just don't show that. After you place the two horse shoe rail shapes upright on the table the video shows you sliding the two together sliding the last two rail studs in place but it doesn't show putting the last two screws or bolts into the studs.

--> If you try to put the side pocket screw on with the long screws in place you will see you won't be able to move the rails out far enough away from the slate to screw in the pocket screw. But if you leave them out you can move the two rails out far enough to get the screw in . Once you have the pocket screw in then just line up the rails with the holes and screw back in the rail long screws ,One more thing don't tighten up the long rail nut like they do in this video ,you need to measure -->>

I been doing tables for thirty years. Need wax is the best way to go. If you got big cracks to fill, soften up a string of wax and mash it in with your thumb then head it a little. Let it cool some, apply more to it if needed. Let it cool again then heat up your scraper and scape it. I never have problems this way. Anything else leaves a mess behind when you have to move it. Most techs don't like putty. Everything else will work. But hey, at least you didn't use Bondo. Good God, came across one last week. I could have killed that guy on the spot.

I sanded down my rubber rails and they got fast again, they were dead

How the hell did they skip over screwing the pocket to the rail doing it this way. They either skipped it or this is a stupidest way ever
