Without considering any specific light output measurements, and talking strictly impressions of naked eye, I would say the running light is on par with OE, and the brake light is brighter.

Just add the resistors in parallel with each led ie connect resistor between black wire and each led signal wire. Use the taps. Mount resistor to sub frame/non plastic part.

We do not want to make an integrated tail light for this bike because the space that we can fit it in is too narrow and any side you signal will basically look like entire tail light is flashing instead of one side. We do have a design for tail signals that is nicer than anything on the market and flows with the body lines but now that the 6 is discontinued I am gun shy to pull trigger to move further on this design.

The only item we're out of stock on currently is our fender eliminator and unfortunately our US-based factory was severely impacted by COVID19 and had to repurpose all manufacturing efforts for medical protective gear. We should have them back in stock within the next week or so.

In the American market the R3 remains as in this video. We have not seen any changes on that model. Please check the actual connections on your bike before believing what someone tells you. It is as simple as removing the driver seat and inspecting what is under there. Good chances are that you have the same connectors as on our tail lights and you can just get what we have.

I saw the 24 model at EICMA in November. There seems to not be any apparent changes versus previous years. I could not digh around the guts of the bike at the show so I cannot verify myself. The parts diagrams for the 24 model have not come out yet, so that is also no help at this point. I cannot answer your question with 100% certainty then, but I am pretty confident that it will fit and connect just from prior experience with new model years of same bikes.

Yes of course. The 20 model is exactly the same as 19. If you are outside the American market then you still have to check your connectors against photos of ours on our website because Yamaha sometimes uses different connectors on the same bike in different markets.

No electrical harm will come to the signals but if you are using the sequential signal program then sequence of each blink will not have time to finish and you will not get the entire signaling circuit to light.

At this point the light fits several bike models and generations. Some use one connector set, and others use the second. Having both sets makes our light universal for all those models, you just leave one not connected. -BR

Why aren't you guys using SMD LEDs in your lights? Isn't using them a standard practice in the automotive industry?

We do in some but not in all. SMD leds require an intermediate lens, a reflector, or some other way of refracting light direction. We have produced many lighting packages using SMD components, but certain packaging requirements of some lights lend themselves to an LED package that has a built in lens and offers intensity in the range we like. We can potentially get a custom SMD package made with the chip and lens but that requires about a 100k piece minimum on the LEDs and then poses a challenge to array them close enough together. As more standard led/lens packages emerge we will surely do more of them. There is no advantage between one or the other as far as reliability, they just solder in from the surface or around vias.

@@dj_dvd3578 changing the relay is the easiest and smartest way to go if you are going to aftermarket LED signals. Resistors are an option but a much worse option than the relay. From what you are saying though it sounds like you want to keep OE signals on the bike and just add the tail light. If you are doing that then you will not need relay or resistors for that setup to function correctly.

You can toggle through the patterns by pressing the program button. One of the programs is standard brake and standard signal.
