How To Install a PS2 Network Adapter [UPDATED]

Just a tip for all the previous PS2 users, make sure you remove the "yellow sticker" that is in the back of the adapter because that's where the Ethernet cable port is located.

If you don't have a internet startup disc there are some games like Jak X: Combat Racing and Star Wars Battlefront that have it built in and you can set it up there

I dint know that about Jak X! Thank You! It also has Daxter Secret Characters you get on the Psp If you have Daxter!

Does one really short the PS2 if the ethernet cable is inserted when the power is still on? Hard to imagine.

I actually shorted out my old PS2 by doing exactly that because I didn't believe it either. It might not happen every time but I wouldn't recommend taking your chances

Just Kritical Oh okay thanks! But do you, even when the adapter is put in succesfully, still need to get off the power when pluging and unpluging the ethernet cable? Or is it just when you install the adapter? (sorry for bad english, I'm from the Netherlands :P)

+Matthijs vd Poel I would say you would want to have the power off until you have doth the adapter and the Ethernet cord plugged in, then you can connect the power again, just to be safe.

The PS2 slim has a built in network port so no network adapter is needed but the set up on the disc should be the same yes.

Alex PlaysFTW you should then be able to load up a multiplayer game and play it if it's set up correctly and you have a good internet connection
