The Pelsee P12 was easy to install, took less than 90 minutes on a Nissan Xterra, and the performance of the product is beyond are wildest expectations. The most difficult part was in the driver's side rear in fishing the wire through the weatherized protector and connecting to the backside of the rubber wiring seal to the backup light. The rear camera was installed inside and from the top portion of the glass. The rear camera works very well. Performance is flawless, and is "transparent". When triggered, the in the mirror display is very bright. License plates are easy to read. Calibration for backup zones and monitoring blind space wasn't that difficult. I highly recommend this well engineered and fully thought out product. Be certain to buy a spare SM memory card and USB reader. I bought the 'C' thumb SM reader for my Android phone where I have the Pelsee app. for video review.

Great video. What if I don't use the T-tap connectors? Do I just cut the red light wire, strip both ends and wire them to the rear cam wire? I know the T-taps make the installation easier, but I don't have them and don't want to wait for them to install the cam. Thanks.

Nice presentation. One comment though. The GPS sensor should be placed on the dashboard in a horizontal position facing forward. The way you mounted it vertically on the windshield wound not work. That’s why when you turned on the car, the orientation is constantly changing from E to N to S to W, …..

Have been thinking of getting a P12 Pro unit and this video is helpful. Question: In the P12 instructions it states to make sure that the GPS unit should have the GPS side pointing up. Did the GPS work with it being stuck backwards on the windshield?

No, It will not short the reverse light. I had rear dash cam that are connected to my reverse lights for 4 years and I have had no issues.

The dash cam covers the rearview mirror. Look at the video and it should show you how much of the rearview mirror is covered. Then you can probably tell if you will be able to see and use the buttons of your rearview mirror.

I would utilize the license plate to install the camera. Then I will probably go underneath the bed of the truck to run the wires. I never done a dash cam installation on a truck yet. Hopefully soon.

My only reasons is that the cablesl wires inside the wire might have lost connection inside the wire. Contact the company support for a new cable. I had a small issue with my dash cam and they were able to help me with the issue with no problems.
