Dude. I’ve been looking everywhere for a gmt800 rearview mirror cam hard wire install. I have an 02 and 03 suburban. Both with parasitic draws. My 03 is bad, 3 days and it’s dead. This video helped me out a lot. I just gotta go take a look and probably pick up a new hard wire kit. Thanks for the explanation man. Nice Tahoe! 👊🏼

Great Video! get a lens polarizer to block the glare on the camera lens from lights for like $10.....thats the difference in the two cameras. if you buy your own polarizer you can dial down the brightness alot. Also i think the "WDR" (Wide Dynamic Range) setting changes the camera brightness resolution as well may want to turn that off. That same setting is on Doorbell cameras for better light absorption for the camera. been thinking about switching from my Kenwood DNV520 camera just for the camera mirror option, this looks slick!!

It doesn’t record inside the vehicle but you can record audio inside, you don’t have to install the rear camera if you don’t want to. Or if you wanted you could install the rear camera inside to record your cabin space

Great video, thanks a lot!!! A quick question.. is the LCD's image bright enough to actually see it clearly during the day? Looking at your video it seems the mirror is extremely reflective and unless the LCD panel is really super bright, then it will be very difficult to see the screen during the day. I already had a couple of mirrors like this that I ended up returning because of this problem.. the screen was too reflective and the LCD panel too dim to actually provide a clear and easy to view picture. Thanks again :)

18awg is good, it’s very low current only about 2 or 3 amps. You can use 16 awg but the wiring will be thicker which is ok if you want to use it but not required.

I still don't understand the part where you connect the yellow wire to the 3A fuse that you created by yourself. Could you please elaborate or explain more of that portion like how to create one or what kind to buy?

The yellow wire gets connected to 12v constant. I connected mines to 12v on a toggle switch in case I ever want to completely turn it off. I made my own fusible link with 2 female terminals and get joined together with the 3 amp fuse. You can also purchase the fusible link already made I have them linked in the description

Thanks! I’ve never used wolf box, but I love my Pelsee it’s been great. It has one of the best reverse camera angle views not like some that only look zoomed in, and the voice control comes in handy.

I sent back my Wolfbix, no good as a rear view mirror. Poor image quality, the traffic seemed too far away and it came close really quicly. OK only for reversing, which I don't need.

Great video brother wanted to ask you i wanna install a kill switch in my 2011 Tahoe but i dont no which wire to cut but lot of people saying on the forum it is light green plug in the BCM and it is the pink wire but when i looked under the BCM their four pink i have idea which one to cut. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!! Im not sure which wire they are trying to cut, but yes there are 3 pinks and 1 pinks/black stripe on the Lt Green connector. I think they are trying to cut pin 14 which is Igntion 1 Voltage. You want to always test it out with a Multimeter. Hope that helps

@migo, just installed my Pelsee P12 pro 4K dashcam and is not hard wired but powered thru cigarette socket, the problem is every time I turned off the power the system setting goes back to the factory setting and i kept on resetting the time and date every time I drive. This dashcam does not come with a built-in lithium-ion battery to keep the setting constant. Is there a new version of this dash cam that solve this problem. The manual does not address this situation. Any comment?

It’s most likely your Time Zone setting, make sure it’s on the right one also make sure the GPS antenna is connected they work together.
