Thanks for you videos ! Can you show us how/where so you run the cables under the car ? I need to install andersons and camera too but can not find the beat way to run cables between engine bay and back of the car. Thanks

Thank you for the comment. Unfortunately the lighting wasn’t right to film running the cables underneath. But i always run them down the passenger side back against the firewall. There are metal brake lines running down and along the chassis which i cable tie the cables to. The Trickiest part is getting the cables over the fuel tank. Let me know if you need any more info.

Thank you. Yeap that’s fine to run them together in conduit. The camera cables have a shielding in them to stop interference.

Don’t have the new car yet, just getting organised, regards the firewall grommet- is it stretchy enough to take the reverse camera lead, a UHF antennae coax and an ignition sense wire? How did you go with the reverse camera lead connector plug through the grommet, no fear of tearing it? Thanks for the great video.

Yeap they will all go through with some persuasion. Best way is to start is to pull through a chaser wire, then tape the camera lead to it first, then tape the coax 10cm down, followed by the ignition wire. Use some silicone spray on the taped areas and pull through gently.

Thanks for watching. I use 7mm split conduit for the camera cables. I usually use either a 5 or 7.5amp fuse for the ignition. It’s just a trigger for the relay so it’s a small amp draw but i don’t want it to prematurely blow so i use a slightly higher amp fuse. The cable is rated at 10amp so no problem there. Years of habit.

A great video thank you. For a dual (rear view and reverse)caravan camera system, is there a reverse light fuse I can also hook my caravan reverse camera into or where do you suggest. Mine is a 2021 Ranger Wildtak.

Thank you for watching. For reverse light trigger i would run a wire to the trailer plug and tap into the reverse circuit (pin2) (black). This way you’re not going to upset any of the modules.

Thanks so much for the videos. As it so happens I have exactly this setup including the anderson plug install, however having viewed other channels which use the fuse tap, there appears to be a particular orientation that the fuse tap must be installed. Is this correct?

Just a quick question about using a fuse tap for power to the monitor. Is it ok to mix differently rated fuses in a fuse tap? I've got a 2014 Ranger and the ignition fuse is 5 amps and the fuse you used in the wildtrack is 7.5 amps. Should I just use a 5 amp fuse for the camera as well? Thanks, Geoff.

Hi Geoff, yeap just use a 5amp fuse for the monitor. The monitors don’t pull much power.

Good question, so there is a company called Advanced Ice, they design and make a plug and play camera interface that can be installed, with upto 3 camera inputs. I’m guessing only certain brand cameras would be compatible though. And i think the kit is quite expensive but a great way to intergrate everything.

Yeap that’s right, it’s new on the market, but with installation quite expensive. Safety dave monitor kit is a great cost effective way to achieve the same thing. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Why didn’t connect to the actual screen of ranger why used aftermarket screen?
