Just had this to my Mr's car hard wired loved to see how people set up the app, also you have to see the video in the car that's my only gripe

You can remove the SD card and view the footage on a laptop if you need to.

Great guide thank you! However I've got an issue with power getting to the dashcam, I've used a multi meter and identified a constant positive fuse, I've even checked the multi meter again with the piggy back fuse in however there doesn't seem to be power getting to my dash cam. Could it be the ground/negative cable?

Might be worth noting that some insurance companies may regard a hard wired dash cam as a vehicle modification and may need to be declared. If you use the cigarette/accessory socket to power the dash cam, then that isn't regarded as a modification.

Yes, you could Google the fusebox layout for your car. Anything that stays on when the ignition is turned off e.g. headlights will have a constant fuse.

My cigarette lighter in my car is a constant positive, it doesnt turn off with the ignition of the car, could i just use this? Also wouldnt this eventually drain the battery, your way included?

My road angel kit has the black spade connector, but two power connectors, red but also a yellow? What's that one for?

It looks like the yellow cable is connected to a constant positive and the red to a switched positive. www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/hwk5v/road-angel-hwk5v-dash-cams-dash-cam It looks like the Halo Pro needs both (your hardwire kit can be used for several models) but I'm 99% sure that you don't need to connect the red cable for the Halo Go.

Because they put the standard hardwiring kit in you need the kit with the yellow wire to use parking mode

That's the wrong hardwiring kit to use the parking mode as you need the 3 wire kit that includes the yellow wire👍

Are you using the correct type of micro sd card? Some dashcams don't recognise micro sd cards that are not high endurance cards like this: amzn.to/4aQJycR

@keeleymelia2750 Micro sd cards do wear out, especially when they are being continually overwritten like they are in a dashcam. Replacing the micro sd card is much cheaper than replacing the dashcam and will probably solve your problem. Good luck 🙂
