I already had the rudder factory installed but my mount broke and I have to get the rudder raising line through because the old one is too short. think I have it now. fyi, not only are these feel free kayaks the best on the market but the company itself may have the best customer service on the planet. thanks to Austin canoe and kayak for the purchase and their amazing customer service.

If you tie a few knots on the end of 20lb monofilament line, you can use compressed air and it will blow the line up through the tube in seconds. Stink the other end of the fishing line through the cord, tie it off and pull it through.

I've seen the handle that comes with the yet to be released pedal drive system. It seems from the pictures its an over engineered plastic and in the way of what was the ample clear deck space. It should have been a retrofit like the 8 ball style steering that is coming out on the new Dorado. I think if and when it is released Ill tinker with the concept and make my own. It may require installing a hatch at the rear where raised FF logo is to make it happen. Maybe a metal rod with a knob or handle, run inside to the rear with internal, or external wired connections that would connect as a second set of controls activated by a left and right or forward and back movement combined with a rear 90 or so bend in the rod to aid in rudder movement.

The tensioner should be screwed in more before crimping cable. I did it like the vid and have no adjustment away from the pedal.

My lure tandem doesn't have a hole for the rudder pivot pin in the rear handle. No mention anywhere about how to attach the rudder

This video needs more detail and could really use some verbal instructions. This is the recommended video from FeelFree, as instructed to use by the sticker on the rudder. Video starts out fine. Seemed simple enough. But more detail is needed regarding the tension of the rudder cables. I am handy and somewhat mechanically inclined, but I had trouble with this step. I taped the peddles as instructed. Installed the cables as best as I could from what I could see on the video. When I went to give it a try, the left cable snapped right out of the crimp. So be very careful in how you angle the rudder when setting the tension. Now I have to figure out how to do this again, without snapping the cable. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Tip, I had a hell of a time getting the rudder cable ran through the guide tube on the left side. I ended up up having to remove the rod holder and twist the tube back and forth between my thumb and index finger while jabbing the cable through. It had gotten a slight twist or bend and would snag up about 2" from the end of the tube. This happened from both ends when I fed the cable through to test for blockage. Very Frustrating.

I see lots of reviews saying the rudder release does not hold and always lets it come loose... Have they upgraded this yet?

Nice video. It would have been nice to watch this before I did mine a few months ago. The instructions that come with rudder system were IMHO useless. BTW, I love these Feel Free Lure Kayaks.

This is the first comment I have ever made on the Internet but this needed to be said; Please make a new video. And WITHOUT the stressful fiddling banjo music. How much tension that is needed on the cables is not easy to figure out and the video does not properly explain this.

It's a crazy bad design that when the rudder is stowed is sticking straight up in the air like a dorsal fin. For literally 1/4 the price you can buy a 3rd-party aftermarket rudder system from Amazon that stows properly and otherwise the install is relatively the same.

These factory videos leave so much to be desired. It says nothing about putting a hole in the kayak to run the up/down cable.
