thank you so much! My husband is going to be so impressed this weekend. (I'm a mechanic, he's a technician, and we are both first timers to glass installation) this is really going to help alot

Oh My thanks for this. My husband passed away and I noticed my rear window of my 1999 Ford 150 pickup was leaking. I looked and thought I needed to put more caulk like my husband had done around the edge of the window. Now I see there is a rubber thingy that goes there. I guess caulk is not the way to go. Thanks for the video.

A little trick is to lay 1/4 rope in the rubber channel all around. When you put the window in place, leave a bit of the rope inside the cab. Then, with the window held up, pull the rope out slowly and it will pull trim in with it.

i only have one broken panel and its one of the sliding ones, can you replace just the slide without removing the entire window?
@azpell11 жыл бұрын
Your right he should have had safety glasses. The window itself however was VERY easy to pop out so it never crossed my mind.

it was easier as the slider has a frame and seemed to be slightly smaller than the original window No glue or sealent just make sure your weather strip is good. Sorry live in Phoenix bit of a commute. Good luck it's easy to do though.

Um.... since safety glass tends to explode & shatter into a thousand pieces, what was the plan for your helper if the stress of prying caused the glass to explode when he was inside?

I have removed my rear window a couple of times when I locked the keys inside... much cheaper and faster than calling someone or breaking a window.
