Bought those brake lines, and new EBC brake pads from your website, and installed them onto my 2007 Yamaha FZ1. Afterwards, I went out for a slow, careful ride, because freshly installed brake pads requires a break-in period before they bite onto the rotor. After riding for 10-15 miles and gently riding the brake pads, I can confidently say the new brake lines and brake pads are so much better than stock. Every 4 years, one should replace their stock rubber brake lines. But if you purchase these stainless steel braided brake lines, they’re good for life of the bike. Install and forget it about.

18:34 Hey Brian, on the master why tighten the top first?? I’ve always done them evenly where there is the same amount of space on top/ bottom of the clamp. Everything takes twice as long because I’m so ungodly OCD!!! What’s your reasoning on this? My paranoid mind wants to know.
@sportbiketrackgear2 жыл бұрын
This clamp is designed to have the upper fastener torqued first. Once this one is torqued you follow with the lower. The upper half will be held flush against the body of the master while there will be a gap between the master body and the cap. - Van

Thanks for the video. Let’s say if the bag had all fresh fluid from bleeding. Can the fluid be reintroduced back into the master if you ran short of fluid? Of course not in this instance, but I’ve seen videos where all the fluid going into the bag is new. If this is the case, can it be reused? Thanks.
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
In theory that would work out, that said these systems have very low capacity so it is best practice just to replace it and not recycle any fluid. Also important to note you should use be opening a NEW bottle of fluid each time you service the brakes to ensure it is moisture free etc... - Van

I have a question I have purchased this from you guys , and I have a question . On my Gxsr600 originally from oem parts my right caliper had two brake lines with the double banjo. But I have seen that this is actually installed at the top by the master cylinder . Leaving only one line on the left and one brake line on the right side . Is that correct .
@sportbiketrackgear2 жыл бұрын
There are a couple of different kits. It sounds like you have the standard double line kit that will have both lines running from the master to the calipers on the right and left. Hope this helps. - Van

I bought the system for the ABS and the Vortex rear set and the Vortex pressure switch once installed bled it like what they say. Brakes work fine until you start the bike once started the pedal is hard as a rock and no brakes. Took it to local Race shop they spent a day nothing told me to take to dealer. Dealer had bike a week got it back $500 out of pocket and I still have no back brake. Can not find any information on how to bleed the ABS pump. Apparently there is a bubble between the cylinder and the ABS pump. Went back to all original same thing did a pressure bleed and a vacuum bleed as well as conventional all with same result. Found most encountered same result and did an ABS delete looking for someone that knows how to bleed ABS pump.
@sportbiketrackgear5 жыл бұрын
I have installed brake lines on multiple ABS equipped bikes and have not run into any issues bleeding the brakes using the same procedure we have shown. With that said there are no absolutes in life and shit happens. Since you are referring to the "pedal" I assume the issue is with the rear brakes. It is very difficult to diagnose something without having the opportunity to lay hands on it. I would suggest back tracking and double checking all of the work you did and the parts you installed. When you do a job and run into an issue afterwards that was not there previous to starting the work it is almost always caused by the work you just did. - Van

@Honda1k6 жыл бұрын
MySeb51 I think he did.
@sportbiketrackgear6 жыл бұрын
The banjo bolt did not break. The banjo bolts and the crush washers are aluminum, when torquing the bolts down there is some friction between the bolt and crush washer. What you see at 19:30 is the grip between them releasing. This happens when the surfaces are both really dry sometimes. If I broke the bolt I would admit it, shit happens to all of us. - Van
