@@inspiringbuilds about 1/4 finished. Ended up being more work than expected, but that is usually how these old basements go. Had to end up re-waterproofing an entire side of the house, and took a little break to get our garden started. The goal is to get the basement finished by June 29. Which is my sons first birthday

My sump pump died and I replaced it with a new one. The installation was actually easier than I thought. It literally took me 20 minutes. But I did make sure to buy the same pump just to make sure it would fit just like the old one.

I watched both the vids. Thanks. The guy I bought from had a second pump installed for drainage under the basement floor. It runs maybe once a summer after a major rainfall. Very very noisy. I’m reluctant to replace the pump itself since even though it’s old it’s had hardly any use. My current thinking is to add the quiet check valve and see if that does the trick. I figure that if it doesn’t, I can still reuse the quiet valve. Sound like a plan?

The average time is 7-10 years, but I would replace sooner if you’re experiencing any of these issues: frequent malfunctions, excessive vibration, strange noises, increased energy bills, water damage, running nonstop, or erratic cycling. To maximize life sump pumps should be inspected, cleaned, and maintained once per year. Let me know if that help. 👍

@@diybrad4666 Thanks for watching. If you look at 4:19 it shows it perfectly lined up. I pulled back the sump pump to slide on the coupling and its the angle of the video. Hopefully the video was helpful. 👍
