Excellent video. After blowing out 3 a/c circuit boards over last few years, this is probably the solution! Was told it would cost $500 to do, so never hired anyone to do it. But see I can buy this type of surge protector and do it myself to $60. Will save me tons of money over the years. Thank you!

After watching a half dozen videos of people doing this, this is by far the clearest and does the best job explaining it. I love the diagram you inserted of everything connected. My disconnect has a 3rd open spot on the ground bar. Any reason I can’t use that instead pig tailing?

Found out if you don't wire into the lead & wire into load, you will risk frying the capacitor or worse. I wired into load & had a series of thumping noises & loud surging "groans". Glad this video was available because the instructions in the packaging of these devices are strictly for whole house breaker panels. Thanks!

Hello there, we have problems with Voltage fluctuations here in South Florida , where the voltage dips / cuts out briefly and then comes back on right away. This causes my AC compressor many problems, so I installed a ICM Delay on Make Timer. The strange thing is that the timer does not cut out at those dips but only delays once the electricity goes off completely ( same counts for the built in delay in my Air handler thermostat). What do you recommend ?

In my understanding, a surge protector is installed between the power source and the equipment. How this device works? Because the unit will be connected to the power source too.

Damn this is as perfect and clean as a video gets for this installation. Not sure I like the vertical video, but understand why it was done that way. Still super clean easy to follow, only would add the Anti-Oxidant on the connector. Thank you for making this video! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

So when my AC unit kicks on and the lights dim quickly but go back to normal is a tell tell sign?

This is more for a power surge in your area that can blow components and fuses. What you would be looking for is a hard start/soft start kit to help reduce inrush amps when the unit comes on
