Thank you Joe. you saved me a lot of time. watching your excellent videos just now, i learned how to install for the vinyl planks in my kitchen. i made a huge mistake and bought the regular T-Moulding instead of the "Reducer" (Kitchen floor a little higher that the family room floor). So tomorrow morning thanks to you i will go to Lowes and get the reducer finishing end. I like to support your sponsors because what you are doing is teaching the world how to be a "Do It Yourself" project. Thank you Joe. God Bless You.

Love the fact that you’re showing this. I pretty much glue and weight all my transitions with 100% clear silicone. I’ve never been a fan of the plastic transition pieces that are made to match the vinyl plank floors, can’t just nail em down like laminate transitions and you better make sure you have a really sharp saw blade when you cut them too. Other than that, glue and weight them down with leftover boxes or paint cans work good too. Tell customer to make sure leave weights in place for 24 hrs to be safe and allow silicone to cure completely

I generally use a strong bonding liquid nails to set my transitions, and use frog tape or blue painters tape to hold them down. Occasionally, not often, I will use a brad nailer. I do like the idea of the glue gun though - thanks. Also, I recently discovered that dry magic erasers work well for getting up liquid nails if you get any on the plank.

I used T mold and like u said 2 days later high traffic areas due to the stress on the Carpet side when u walk on it are making the top end tear from the bottom that goes into the track. I have fucking played myself so now off to go get 35ft of end cap. Because the tracks are garbage and if the transition does not break over time it will certainly make a terrible noise when it is walked on. Gluing it makes it solid

Just had all the bedrooms done. For the life of me, . cant figure out why they insisted on end caps from a transition to tile and was practically the same height. We hate the transition. Its big and bulky.. During the second day of the install, i said cut the transitions to length and don't set them. I'll be changing the end caps to Ts real shortly. But other than that the floors look good.. Thanks for the vid...and for the links to the adhesives..

Hi there! I have a question: I am trying to install a vinyl T-molding and the length needs to be 96 inches to fit. I can only find 78 3/4 inch molding kits and I am wondering how do I cut and fit two pieces together so it looks nice? Or can you suggest a brand of vinyl T-molding that would have a product long enough to fit?

Thanks for this. My house came with a bunch of transitions between tile and carpet that appear to be a 1-1/2" wide piece of something that looks and feels like white granite. I doubt it actually IS granite, but it looks and feels like it. Anyway, I had always wondered how it was attached, and I guess glue is the obvious answer! :-D Thanks!

Where should the t-molding begin? Flush with the outer part of the jam ; edge centered in the middle of the jam ; or flush on the the inner edge of the jam directly under the door when closed? I'm working up against carpet in 3 bedrooms and have planks running long ways down a hall. Cheers.

Hi Joe. Thanks for your videos. They are very helpful. I'm currently working on my first vinyl plank floor at my home. What brand of T moldings/transition strips do you like or prefer to use?
