Good information. However, I think the center of the TV (TV height) should be at eye level when sitting down, no matter what the screen size is. Otherwise, it causes strains to your neck.

Yep, I agree, my living room is a 65 inch Samsung which is installed so the center of the screen is at eye level. Perfect for me, no neck strain. I learned a lesson a long time ago to not have the TV much higher where you start getting neck fatigue after 30 minutes.

​@@Askmediy Exactly what I'm getting ready to do this weekend. I have a 43 inch Samsung to install this weekend (bdrm). Painting so need to paint the wall in the next 24 hrs or so. I like the design of your mount better than the Sanus I picked up on sale at Costco a few days ago. Are you pretty satisfied with that mount? I like to cut out a piece of cardboard exactly the dimensions of the TV and frog tape it to the wall to look at it for a few days to determine a good ergonomic height :) Did that for the 65 inch in the living room. The bdrm tv is very thin and weighs under 22 lbs so I don't need to overkill on the mount, but may pick up one like yours by Mounting Dreams. It will definitely be higher for sure in the bedroom,:) Thanks for all your great info!

@@la196 I have to say it is a very good mount and for the money to boot. The one in my bedroom is well over my head. But that's so I can watch TV while I lay in bed and so I don't smack my head on it, it's mounted to the side wall. I wish I had a nickel for every stud finder I have bought that completely and totally fails to find the stud. I have bought expensive ones, I have bought cheap ones, I have bought moderately priced ones, and finding studs has turned into guesswork every single time.

Oh I agree. The one I used seems to work well for me..It's made by Zircon. I still like the hammer and nail way.

i use a magnet to find sheetrock screws for stud finding , batteries not included

How do you compensate for the fact that stud screw are often way off center? I have tried the magnet method too, and still finding the stud is guesswork. I have just never found anything that works.
