Loved it only have one question do you also put silicone on the vessel top to stay put on the counter top?
@bambamnj Жыл бұрын
It was kind of hard to tell for sure, but it looked to me as if you put the half moon shaped thing that holds the faucet in place, on incorrectly. I was always under the impression that it is supposed to go in with the little bumps pointing up towards the sink. It looked to me as if you put it on with the little bumps pointing down towards the long fastening nut.

If for some reason you have to tighten down or replace the drain assembly can You? Is the hole in the countertop big enough to get a wrench in? Maybe that's why the nut should go on the bottom of the countertop?
@RalphBucci3 жыл бұрын
Most certainly!! That’s why you have to have a special drain for the vessel sink.
@marcuscameron42644 жыл бұрын
Nice video, thanks. Just FYI, My instructions say to go through the counter top and then attach the tightening nut, an absolute requirement for a bowl type sink because that is what holds the sink down. With your sink that was not a problem, not sure if your hole would have been big enough but you didn't have to accommodate for the nut had you installed it that way.

We use a high end adhesive caulk both underneath and on the sides of the sink so it should never move!!

Great video Ralph. I am installing a vessel sink which has the faucet separate from the basin. Do you have any suggestions or video that shows such install?
@RalphBucci3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I appreciate you!! Unfortunately I don’t have any videos showing a standard faucet installation and I can’t recommend any. I was going to do one at some point but the last sink I did, I did by myself and it’s hard to film an installation of that nature without a dedicated cameraman!!

My flat vessel sink instructions say to put the rubber washer and tightening nut UNDER the countertop, not against the sink like you did. Perhaps that's why it didn't fit right to begin with? I'd prefer it to be against the sink too but that's not how the vendor says to install it, plus I'd also have to create a much bigger hole in the countertop.

Ours initially didn’t fit right because the countertop guys didn’t cut the hole big enough so that’s why we had to modify it.

Can you send the link to the faucet, puddy, and sink adhesive?
@RalphBucci3 жыл бұрын
My client purchased the faucet and the plumbers putty and caulk can be found at your local hardware store.

Can the hole for the drain be larger to give more wiggle room? I only have a 4" hole saw
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
As long as the sink will cover the hole, you can cut the hole as large as you want!!

Nice! Can you share where you bought the sink and countertop?

My client provided the material so I don’t know.

What the hell is that suction cup holder for the hole saw... NEED ONE NOW!
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
Dude, that is one of the coolest hole saws we own!! It’s really made for tile but we’ve used it on quite a few solid surface projects before. It’s a Rubi hole saw kit sold at Floor And Decor.

Ralph Bucci that’s awesome. I need to do something similar on 2 1/4” concrete. Same sink and faucet combo as this one too. I don’t want to spend $215 on the kit, my wife would murder me for a one time use. I think I’m going to drill out through some 3/4” ply, then silicone that over the spot I need to cut out, hoping that will work out for me.

Will the homedepot premaid bathroom tops work with this type of sinks?
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can cut those to any size, just like a solid surface top.

Can you please help me. Im totally lost. I feel like hiring a plumber I strongly believed I could do this but I'm having second thoughts. I purchased the same sink as yours. However different faucet but looks like the same pop up drain. As you mentioned mine looks like the first one you shown with no threads. So mine is not fully closing on the bottom. I think I need the second drain as you shown. However Home Depot did not have it. Can I get a name? Or where can I find it? Please thank you.
@RalphBucci3 жыл бұрын
I believe we got it at Lowe’s. I don’t know where you are but Ace hardware has them as well.

I'm in California. Is it called Vessel sink drain.?
@RalphBucci3 жыл бұрын
Oops!! I tend to forget that not everybody is in Central Texas!! It’s called a vessel sink drain and they are specific to vessel sinks only. A conventional drain found at your local hardware store will not work.

Do you need to add any sort of adhesive between the sink and the countertop?
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
We use adhesive tub and tile caulk for all our caulking needs!! Works wonders!!

How do you glue the sink to the counter top?
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
We use an adhesive caulk to adhere it and seal it to the existing countertop.

Did you buy the drain separately?
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did. Most standard faucets don’t come with a vessel sink drain stem.
@kimanzaldorusso6524 жыл бұрын
If vessel sink is separate from the faucet should it be secured down underneath with glue!
@RalphBucci4 жыл бұрын
We always use an adhesive grout caulk when we do things of that nature. That way we kill two birds with one stone 🤣🤣🤣
