Because it's can't be done, that is all factory screen only displays things from the BCM

Thank you for your answer! So if any information pops on the screen i cant remove it? I have an alarm error and any time i switch the car on , the up screeen shows an error that disappear when i press the central button on the original stereo...

That's correct you can't change the factory screen info

Where do you get your ignition live switch wire connection from? I see people mention getting it from the cigarette lighter but didn't see you do that?

That one was on the plug there and the ones that don't have it, use the cigarette lighter socket

Sorry as I've done that car about 4 years ago and my memory isn't that great, if you have access to a test light that would make it alot easier.

Hey, I'm trying to get my stereo out of my Vauxhall signum. It's the same set up as a vectra/astra etc. I have the double din keys but no matter what I try, the stereo isn't sliding out. I've tried wiggling the keys in every which way to make sure I'm getting the latch but it's just not budging. I'm beginning to resort to using a hammer and smashing the entire thing. Can you think of any possible reason as to why the darn thing isn't budging? The only thing I can think of is some cowboy decided to superglue the thing in

Ok when you push the keys into the two holes does it click into place if not then you might need to go further or if it's in too deep the you need to pull it out until it catches then pull the keys outward from each other and towards you at the same time.

Thanks for your quick reply, I did manage to get it out in the end. I was doing everything I should have been doing but I think someone had attempted to change the stereo for an aftermarket one previously and bent the brackets/pins whilst doing so. Now I just need to get the cable adapters. Such a ball ache. But cheers

not too sure on that as I only install it and reverse the vehicle back out of the shop, I don't take it on a test drive so I can't tell you sorry. but I would think all your other info would remain as it's only the audio unit that's replaced.
